Architects (British Band)
Architects is a British metalcore band from Brighton, East Sussex, formed in 2004 by twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle. The band now consists of Dan Searle on drums, Sam Carter on vocals, Alex Dean on bass, and Adam Christianson and Josh Middleton on guitars. They have been signed to Epitaph Records since 2013. Strongly influenced by bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, the sound of their first three albums was coarse, chaotic, and rhythmically complex. In 2011, Architects went in a more melodic post-hardcore direction with ''The Here and Now'', alienating some of their fanbase. The following year, they returned towards their original style with '' Daybreaker'', establishing a balance of melody and technical harshness while introducing more politicised lyrics. With the release of their sixth album '' Lost Forever // Lost Together'' in 2014, the band achieved lasting popularity and critical acclaim. Brighton
Brighton () is a seaside resort and one of the two main areas of the City of Brighton and Hove in the county of East Sussex, England. It is located south of London. Archaeological evidence of settlement in the area dates back to the Bronze Age, Roman and Anglo-Saxon periods. The ancient settlement of "Brighthelmstone" was documented in the ''Domesday Book'' (1086). The town's importance grew in the Middle Ages as the Old Town developed, but it languished in the early modern period, affected by foreign attacks, storms, a suffering economy and a declining population. Holy Hell (Architects Album)
''Holy Hell'' is the eighth studio album by British metalcore band Architects. It was released on 9 November 2018 through UNFD and Epitaph Records. The album was produced by Dan Searle and Josh Middleton. It is the follow-up to the band's previous album '' All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us'', and is the first record without founding member and main songwriter Tom Searle, following his death from skin cancer in August 2016. Background Architects' guitarist Tom Searle passed away on 20 August 2016, after his three-year battle with skin cancer. His death had a traumatic effect on the other members of the band. Sam Carter, the band's lead vocalist, noted at the final date of a European tour in the Brixton Academy in London he felt "this could be the last time I do this". Ruin (album)
''Ruin'' is the second studio album by British metalcore band Architects. It was released on 25 October 2007 through United by Fate, Distort and Century Media Records. The album was produced by John Mitchell, Ben Humphreys and the band themselves. It is the first album to feature vocalist Sam Carter and bassist Alex Dean. Composition Style Stylistically, this album displays a minor change in the band's style, with a more fluid metalcore sound. Clean vocals are implemented again in a few songs, to a larger extent than on ''Nightmares'', although not as prominently as in later releases. The album features a change in guitar tuning, from drop C (which was used on ''Nightmares'') to drop B, for all tracks, except "Low", which features the same tuning as drop B, but with the low B tuned to F# (the bass string on an eight string guitar). Johnny Truant
Johnny Truant was a British metalcore band, formed in 2000 under the name Severance. The band recorded three demos under this moniker before renaming themselves after one of the main characters of Mark Z. Danielewski's novel ''House of Leaves''. The band recorded their debut release ''The Repercussions of a Badly Planned Suicide'' (which featured three remixed songs from their second demo) in 2002 which was released on Undergroove Records. Their second album, ''In the Library of Horrific Events'' was produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist, Adam Dutkiewicz. The band have toured the UK, Europe and Canada with the likes of Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Cancer Bats and Alexisonfire as well as playing Download Festival in 2005, 2006 and 2008. Whitemare
Whitemare is an English rock band from Brighton, formed in 2008. The group's line-up features ex-Architects vocalist Matt Johnson, ex-Johnny Truant guitarist Al Kilcullen and ex-Centurion drummer Eugene Economou. In 2009, Whitemare recorded a five track EP which was released through Small Town Records, with the band's style being described as a cross between hardcore punk, stoner rock and Southern rock. Whitemare then released their first album, ''Snider'', worldwide on 11 November 2011. Beecher were a mathcore band from Manchester, England. Formed in 2001 by Daniel Plant (guitars), Ed Godby (vocals), Mark Lyons (guitars), Will Shaw (drums) and David Hopkinson (bass), they played a mix of metalcore, noise rock and progressive metal. ''Rock Sound'' is a British magazine that covers rock music. The magazine aims at being more " underground" and less commercial, while also giving coverage to better-known acts. Enter Shikari (stylised as enter: shikari and occasionally as ΣΠΤΣ℞ SΗΦΚ∆℞Φ) are a British rock band formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. The British and Irish Modern Music Institute, now styled as the BIMM Institute, is a group of eight independent colleges which specialise in the provision of creative education in Brighton, Bristol, London, Dublin, Manchester, Berlin, Birmingham, and Hamburg.
