Archery At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Team
The men's team archery event was one of five archery events held at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It was held at Yumenoshima Park, with the ranking round taking place on 23 July and match play on 26 July. Background This was the 9th consecutive appearance of the event, which has been held every Games since 1988. Of the 12 teams that competed in 2016, 8 qualified to return, including all four semifinalists (winner South Korea, silver medalist the United States, bronze medalist Australia, and fourth-place finisher China). The other teams from 2016 that have qualified to return are the Netherlands, France, Indonesia, and Chinese Taipei. Kazakhstan has qualified to return for the first time since 2000; Japan, Great Britain, and India competed in 2012. Yumenoshima Park
is a sports park in Yumenoshima, Kōtō, Kōtō Ward, Tokyo, Japan. It was made by improving a landfill site called Yumenoshima, which had been the final disposal site for garbage from 1957 until 1967. Yumenoshima was the site of the archery event of the 2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. Sjef Van Den Berg
Sjef van den Berg (born 14 April 1995) is a retired Dutch competitive archer. He has won a total of two medals (a silver in the individual recurve and a bronze for the Dutch team) at the 2015 European Games, and eventually finished fourth in the men's individual archery at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Van der Berg currently trains at HBV Ontspanning in Sint-Oedenrode, under the tutelage of his coach Ron van der Hoff, a former Olympian at the Athens 2004 edition. Born and raised in southern town of Heeswijk-Dinther, van den Berg took up archery as a four-year-old, and then made his international debut in 2010. Steve Wijler (born 19 September 1996) is a Dutch archer competing in men's recurve events. He won the bronze medal in the men's individual recurve event at the 2017 World Archery Championships held in Mexico City, Mexico. Gijs Broeksma (born 10 December 1999) is a Dutch archer. He competes in recurve archery and is right-handed. He competed in Archery at the 2020 Summer Olympics where he as a part of Dutch team reached fourth place together with his teammates Sjef van den Berg en Steve Wijler.
