Arapongas is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality within the state of Paraná (state), Paraná, South Region, Brazil. It is located in the Metropolitan area of Londrina, Microregion Apucarana and Mesoregion North Central Paranaense, being located at a distance of 386 km from the state capital, Curitiba. It occupies an area of approximately 382 km. In 2020, its population was estimated by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics in 124,810 inhabitants, the sixteenth-most populous city of Paraná, and second-most populous metropolitan area of Londrina. History Situated in the Northern Paraná region, was born by the company's initiative to Northlands Paraná, pioneered the settlement of the region. As well as the cities founded by the company, had all its development based on a master plan. Ademar Aparecido Xavier Júnior (born 8 January 1985 in Arapongas), commonly known as Ademar Xavier, Xavier Ademar or simply Ademar, is a Brazilian footballer. Club career He started his career in 2001 as a junior for Londrina F.C. in Brazil. He was quickly selected to play for Brazil under 16's in 2001, in an international championship in France. Wilson Aparecido Xavier Júnior (born 15 March 1984), commonly known as Juninho, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ihan. Biography Born in Arapongas, Paraná, Juninho started his career at Londrina Junior Team, the youth team of Londrina (they later became two separate entities). He played once in the national cup in 2004. He was then loaned to Serie A team Chievo but played for its youth team. Luciano André Pagliarini Mendonça (born April 18, 1978, in Arapongas, state of Paraná) is a retired Brazilian cyclist. A renowned sprinter, he has been regarded as one of Brazil's finest cyclists. Pagliarini has taken part in the road cycling race at 2004 Summer Olympics (from which he withdrew due to mechanical trouble) and the 2005 Tour de France (best position: 5th on stage 2, withdrawal on stage 9).
