Aranyak Express
The 12885 / 12886 Aranyak Express is a short-distance Superfast-type day train run by Indian Railways which connects the city of Kolkata (Shalimar) with Bhojudih. It operates daily except on Sunday. It travels the 311 km at an average speed of 56–58 km/h. It was originally Shalimar - Santaldih Aranyak Express. Recently it was extended to Bhojudih (Jharkhand) Junction in Jharkhand State. The Aranyak Express is hauled by Indian Railways WAM-4 class locomotives. It is very popular with tourists who wish to travel to Bishnupur, Mukutmanipur, Jhilimili, Susunia Hills or Ayodhya Hills. It has second class seating and general type of coaches. the Indian Railways passes through the major railway stations of Kharagpur, Midnapore, Bishnupur, Bankura, Adra. Ayodhya (; ) is a city situated on the banks of holy river Saryu in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The Indian locomotive class WAP-7 is a class of 25 Volt, kV Alternating current, AC Electric locomotive, electric locomotives that was developed in 1999 by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for Indian Railways. The model name stands for 5 ft 6 in gauge railway, broad gauge (W), AC Current (A), Passenger traffic (P) engine, 7th generation (7). They entered service in 2000. A total of 1424 WAP-7 have been built, with more units being built at CLW, Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) and Diesel-Loco Modernisation Works, Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW). The WAP-7 is one of the most successful locomotives of Indian Railways serving passenger trains for over 22 years. WAP-4
The Indian locomotive class WAP-4 is a class of 25 kV AC electric locomotives that was developed in 1993 by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works for Indian Railways. The model name stands for broad gauge (W), AC Current (A), Passenger traffic (P) engine, 4th generation (4). They entered service in late 1994. A total of 778 WAP-4 were built at CLW between 1993 and 2015, which made them the most numerous class of mainline electric passenger locomotive until the WAP-7. The WAP-4 is one of the most successful locomotives of Indian Railways serving both passenger and freight trains for over 28 years. Tatkal Scheme
The Tatkal Scheme is a ticketing program established by Indian Railways. The scheme is used for booking journeys at very short notice. The Indian Railways introduced it in all forms of reserved classes on almost all trains in India. It was introduced in 1997, when Nitish Kumar was the Railway Minister of India. Bookings can be made online and offline.
