Araki Fabulous Willy
Ch/Am Ch. Araki Fabulous Willy (25 April 2001 – 4 December 2008), also known as Willy, was a male Tibetan Terrier who won the title of Best in Show at Crufts in 2007. He was also the top of his breed in the UK for four years consecutively, and the top of the Utility group in 2003. Willy was the most successful of his breed of all time in the UK. Willy has several descendants still living in the UK, including Levi Newman and Frankie and Benny Mattey of North London. Early life Owned by John Shaw and Neil Smith from Gloucester, Willy was bred by Ken Sinclair. He was born on 25 April 2001. Show history At Crufts between 2004 and 2006, Willy won the title of Best of Breed each time, and placed third in the Utility Group in 2006, winning the group in 2004. Crufts
Crufts is an international dog show held annually in the United Kingdom, first held in 1891. Organised and hosted by The Kennel Club, it is the largest show of its kind in the world. Crufts is centred on a championship conformation show for dogs, and includes a large trade show of mainly dog-related goods and services, as well as competitions in dog agility, Obedience training, obedience, flyball and heelwork to music. Winner of the annual Friends for Life competition which celebrates unsung canine heroes is also announced at Crufts and it hosts finals of Scruffts, a crossbreed competition. Jafrak Philippe Olivier
Ch. Jafrak Philippe Olivier, (April 3, 2001 – September 2013), also known as Philip, was a male Giant Schnauzer who won the title of Best In Show at Crufts in 2008. He had previously won the Working Group in 2004 and 2005. Show history Philip was bred by Jack and Frances Krall and whelped on 3 April 2001. He was owned by Kevin and Sandie Cullen from St Leonards-on-Sea. Philip was sired by the multiple champion French dog Luther King Du Bujol and came from a litter of three puppies. His dam was also a champion and her registered name was Jafrak Dolcelata. His show career started with a best puppy in show win at the Northern Schnauzer Club and he achieved his first challenge certificate at 11 months of age at the Schnauzer Club of Great Britain where he also secured "Best in Show" after beating the best of breed winners in the other Schnauzer sizes. Giant Schnauzer
The Giant Schnauzer is a breed of dog developed in the 17th century in Germany. It is the largest of the three breeds of Schnauzerthe other two breeds being the Standard Schnauzer and the Miniature Schnauzer. Numerous breeds were used in its development, including the black Great Dane, the Bouvier des Flandres, and the German Pinscher. Originally bred to assist on farms by driving livestock to market and guarding the farmer's property, the breed eventually moved into the city, where it worked guarding breweries, butchers' shops, stockyards and factories. It was unknown outside of Bavaria until it became popular as a military dog during World War I and World War II. They have a dense coarse coat that protects them from the weather and from vermin. Championships are awarded to dogs who have passed through a process of selection at dog shows. Traditionally, a championship was received at a conformation show, but championships are now offered for dogs who have attained a high degree of perfection in other dog sports as well. Utility Group
The Kennel Club ("KC") is the official kennel club of the United Kingdom. It is the oldest recognised kennel club in the world. Its role is to oversee various canine activities including dog shows, dog agility and working trials. It also operates the national register of pedigree dogs in the United Kingdom and acts as a lobby group on issues involving dogs in the UK. Its headquarters are on Clarges Street in Mayfair, London, with business offices in Aylesbury. The Kennel Club registration system divides dogs into seven breed groups.
