Apostelkirche
The Apostelkirche is the oldest church building in the district town of Gütersloh in North Rhine-Westphalia. The church was declared a listed building in 1984. History The church marks the centre of the former church village, which was the nucleus of the later town of Gütersloh. Already around 800 a wooden chapel could have stood here. The first stone church dates from 1201. A few wall remains are still preserved in the tower of today's church, the rest burned down at the beginning of the 16th century. The special feature of the Apostle Church is its use as a simultaneous church between 1655 and 1890. The faithful of the majority Protestant church village and the northern and western building communities, which all belonged to the dominion of Rheda, shared the church with the Catholic faithful, who came from the southern and eastern building communities belonging to the prince bishopric of Osnabrück. Gütersloh
Gütersloh () is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in the area of Westphalia and the administrative region of Detmold. Gütersloh is the administrative centre for a district of the same name and has a population of 100,194 people. Geography Gütersloh lies in the Emssandebene, south-west of the Teutoburg Forest and on the north-eastern edge of the Westphalian Basin and has no significant points of elevation. The city's lowest point is above sea level on the river Ems near the Princess Royal Barracks and the highest point is above sea level in the eastern township of Friedrichsdorf. The border to Rheda-Wiedenbrück extends as part of the Rhedaer Forest, a large wooded area with predominantly conifers. The Olympiastadion (; en, Olympic Stadium) is a sports stadium at Olympiapark Berlin in Berlin, Germany. It was originally built by Werner March for the 1936 Summer Olympics. During the Olympics, the record attendance was thought to be over 100,000. Today the stadium is part of the Olympiapark Berlin. Since renovations in 2004, the Olympiastadion has a permanent capacity of 74,475 seats and is the largest stadium in Germany for international football matches.
