Anders Aplin is a Singaporean professional footballer who plays as a defender for Singapore Premier League club Hougang United and the Singapore national team. Club career Youth career Anders was part of the Singapore Sports School's inaugural cohort of footballers and moved on to the National Football Academy under-18s. Andrew Ahyim Aplin (born March 21, 1991) is an American former professional baseball outfielder. He attended Arizona State University, where he played college baseball for the Arizona State Sun Devils. Amateur career Aplin was born Suisun City, California, but lived in the Phoenix metropolitan area in the mid-1990s. When he was six, his family moved back to California. Aplin attended Vanden High School in Fairfield, California. After graduating, the New York Yankees selected Aplin in the 33rd round of the 2009 MLB draft. Gregory John Aplin (born 9 October 1952), an Australian politician, was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Albury for the Liberal Party from 2003 until 2019. Early life and background Aplin was born in Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia, on 9 October 1952. He studied at the University of Cape Town, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours. He worked for the Rhodesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before doing national service with the British South Africa Police between 1975 and 1977, during which time he was awarded the General Service Medal. He returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was given a three years posting to Sydney. Joseph Aplin
Joseph Aplin (c. 1740 – April 26, 1804) was a lawyer and political figure in colonial Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. He represented Barrington Township in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1785 to 1787. He was born in Rhode Island, the son of John Aplin, and became a lawyer like his father, setting up practice in Newport. As a loyalist, he was forced to move to New York City and went to Nova Scotia in 1783. In 1787, he went to St. John's Island (later Prince Edward Island) as solicitor general for Edmund Fanning. In 1790, he was named attorney general. Aplin was charged with wrongdoing by supporters of former governor Walter Patterson in 1791; he was exonerated and successfully sued for damages in 1793. Kenneth Aplin (1918 – 25 February 2004) was a leading Umpire (Australian rules football), field umpire in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) between 1939 and 1954. Aplin umpired 291 SANFL matches, including 10 Grand Finals. He was the regular 'independent' umpire in the Western Australia Australian rules football team, Western Australia versus Victoria Australian rules football team, Victoria matches. Aplin was the SANFL umpires' coach between 1955 and 1957 and umpired in the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL). After retiring as an umpire, he was a football commentator on Adelaide radio for 18 years, and also a television football panellist. Aplin was inducted in the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 1996. Nick Aplin (born 7 March 1952) is a Senior Lecturer at the Physical Education and Sports Science Academic Group (PESS) at the National Institute of Education (NIE). In 1971 he studied at Loughborough College for his degree in physical education (PE). He graduated in 1976. In 1984 Nick Aplin studied a master's degree at Loughborough. In late 1985 he became a lecturer at the College of Physical Education in SIngapore. He completed a PhD in 1999. Nick Aplin's first book, ''To the Finishing Line'', was published in 2002. Oliver Vernon Aplin (5 December 1858 – 8 November 1940) was a British ornithologist. Aplin was born in Bodicote, Oxfordshire, the son of solicitor Benjamin W. Aplin and Barbara Aplin. He was educated in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire,1871 England Census but lived the rest of his life in Oxfordshire, with a keen interest in the natural history of the area. He published a number of papers and notes on British birds, particularly those of Oxfordshire, Norfolk and the Lleyn Peninsula, North Wales. In 1892, he published a list of the birds in Banbury with his two brothers, Frederick C. Aplin and Rev. Benjamin D'Oyley Aplin. William Aplin
William Aplin (27 April 1840 – 18 February 1901) was an Australian pioneer, businessman and politician of Queensland, Australia in the 19th century. Early life William Aplin was born on 'Sticklepath' farm near Combe St Nicholas, Somerset, England and baptised in St Nicholas Anglican church there in 1840. He was raised a middle child in a family of six, to a rural life in a well to do yeoman farming family in Dorset and Wiltshire. He was trained from an early age in the way of Yeoman martial arts including riding and shooting. He received an education and finished at the Bourton Academy in East Tisbury, Wiltshire. He was raised in the Anglican Christian faith. Aplin was recorded living and working as an agricultural labourer at Awliscombe, Devon, in the England census of 1861.
