Antonín Plachý
Antonín Plachý (born January 9, 1971) is a former Czech footballer who had stints in the Czech First League, USL A-League, and the Canadian Professional Soccer League. Playing career Plachý began his career in 1995 with Czech giants AC Sparta Prague of the Czech First League, and played two seasons with Sparta Krc. On July 26, 2002 the Toronto Lynx of the USL A-League announced the signing of Plachý. He made his debut for the club on July 26, 2002 in a match against the Hampton Roads Mariners. At the conclusion of the USL A-League season, Plachý signed with Toronto Supra of the Canadian Professional Soccer League. He made his debut on September 6, 2002 in a match against York Region Shooters York Region Shooters is a Canadian association football, soccer team, that plays in the Canadian Soccer League. The Canadian Soccer League (CSL; french: Ligue canadienne de soccer — LCS) is a semi-professional league for Canadian soccer clubs primarily located in the province of Ontario, and claims the history of the Canadian National Soccer League (CNSL). York Region Shooters (1998)
The York Region Shooters were a soccer team playing in the Canadian Professional Soccer League from 1998–2002. They played their home matches in the town of Aurora, Ontario, north of Toronto. The franchise was one of the original teams of the CPSL. The team had its origins in the York Region Soccer League and were previously known as the York Region Stallions. During its five-year stint in the CPSL the club failed to secure a postseason berth, but managed to develop some top talent for the Canadian national team. In 2002, the York Region Shooters were sold by the Bisceglia family to Tony De Thomasis, and merged the club with the Vaughan Sun Devils in 2003.
