Anthropology
Anthropology is the scientific study of humanity, concerned with human behavior, human biology, cultures, societies, and linguistics, in both the present and past, including past human species. Michael Hermanussen
Michael Hermanussen (born 26 April 1955 in Hamburg) is a German pediatrician and professor at the University of Kiel. He is known for his work on growth and nutrition. Life Hermanussen studied medicine and worked as a pediatrician at the University of Kiel from 1982 until 1989. He investigated growth and child development (auxology) and first described mini growth spurts. Since 1990 he cooperates in international joint projects with scientists and also works in a general pediatric office. He organizes national and international meetings on growth and nutrition. From 2003 to 2011 he was a member of the scientific board of the German society for Anthropology and chief editor of ”Anthropologischer Anzeiger”. Rudolf Martin (anthropologist)
Rudolf Martin (1 July 1864 – 11 July 1925) was a Swiss anthropologist, specializing in physical anthropology. Martin's second wife, Stefanie Oppenheim, survived him and edited a second (1928) edition of his physical anthropology textbook. Rudolf Martin’s Historical Archive Rudolf Martin was a Professor of Physical Anthropology in Munich, who had become inspired by the discovery of the ‘Java Man’ (Pithecanthropus erectus) in 1893 in Java, by the Dutch anthropologist Eugene Dubois. Dubois' publications on the 'Missing Link' became the CenterPoint of the Archive of Rudolf Martin, comprising more than 43,000 historical documents, manuscripts, scientific books and journals.
