Anthony Philip Gilson Hughes, Lord Hughes of Ombersley (born 11 August 1948 in St Albans, Hertfordshire) is a former English judge of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. He was previously a Lord Justice of Appeal and Vice-President of the Criminal Division from 2009, following the retirement of Lord Justice Latham, to 9 April 2013. Anthony Hughes (footballer)
Anthony Hughes (born 3 October 1973) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Career Hughes began his career with Crewe Alexandra, where he made 23 appearances in the Football League. He made his debut against Torquay United on 15 August 1992, and scored his first (and only) league goal for Crewe against Carlisle United on 6 April 1993, both at Gresty Road. In 1994 Hughes briefly went on loan to Norwegian second-tier club Bærum SK. Hughes later played non-league football for four seasons at Morecambe, and playing for Winsford United before quitting the game, aged 29. Hughes also participated at the 1993 FIFA World Youth Championship, making six appearances for England as they finished third in the tournament, held in Australia. Tony Hughes is an American actor and singer. As an actor, he starred in ''The Lost Islands'' (1976), ''Chopper Squad'' (1977–1979) and the film adaptation of ''Puberty Blues'' (1981). As a singer he has fronted Bellydance and King Tide. Hughes was born in England and moved to Australia at age 12. He moved into acting in the 1970s, first appearing in an episode of ''The Rovers''. He then appeared in the entire ''The Lost Islands'' and ''Chopper Squad'' series. He made his first feature film appearance in a small part in ''My Brilliant Career''. He was then a major cast member of ''Puberty Blues''. After a few more small parts he moved into music, playing with Bellydance until they disbanded and then forming King Tide. Tony Hughes (born 12 March 1963) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Sydney Swans in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Career Hughes, recruited to Sydney from Albury, kicked two goals on his debut, against Essendon in the 11th round of the 1984 VFL season. He played again the following week against Melbourne, a 97-point loss, then lost his spot in the team and didn't make any more appearances that season. In 1985 he played four games for Sydney, from rounds 12 to 15. This included a 22 disposal game when Sydney defeated Richmond at the SCG, for which he received a Brownlow Medal vote.
