Anthony Fontana
Anthony Fontana (born October 14, 1999) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Eerste Divisie side PEC Zwolle. Youth soccer Fontana began his recreational youth league development with Kirkwood Soccer Club in New Castle, Delaware at age 4. By age 10, Fontana had his first participation with the Philadelphia Union Academy and became a full-time participant in 2014. Professional career Bethlehem Steel Fontana developed at the Philadelphia Union Academy and made his way through to Bethlehem Steel FC, the Philadelphia Union's second team as an academy player. He made his professional debut against FC Cincinnati in July 2016 at 16 years of age. He would go on to make 8 appearances for Steel during their inaugural season. The Philadelphia Union are an American professional soccer club based in Chester, Pennsylvania. The Union compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. Founded on February 28, 2008, the club began playing in 2010 as an expansion team. The Supporters' Shield is an annual award given to the Major League Soccer team with the best regular season record, as determined by the MLS points system. The Supporters' Shield has been annually awarded at the MLS Supporters' Summit since 1999 (with the winners between 1996 and 1998 awarded retroactively), and has been recognized as a major trophy by the league. It echoes the practice of the top European leagues in which the team with the best record is the champion. Philadelphia Union II is an American professional soccer team based in Chester, Pennsylvania competing in MLS Next Pro. Founded in 2015 as Bethlehem Steel FC, the team is the official affiliate of the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer. The team competed for five seasons in the USL Championship (the first three as Bethlehem Steel FC) before going on hiatus from competition during the 2021 season. The 2018 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship was the 6th edition of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship (27th edition if all eras included), the men's under-20 international football tournament organized by CONCACAF.
