Antero Mertaranta
Lauri Antero Johannes Mertaranta (born 17 January 1956 in Hyvinkää, Finland) is a prominent Finnish sportscaster and TV personality and former elementary school teacher. Antero Mertaranta is best known for his energetic announcing in IIHF World Championships ice hockey games, especially when Finland's team is playing. Besides ice hockey Mertaranta has also been announcing football, athletics and Finnish baseball. Mertaranta himself played Finnish baseball in his youth. In 2001 Mertaranta began hosting a sports quiz show named ''Se on siinä'', named after one of his most famous catchphrases: ''Se on siinä!'' (That's it! / That was it! / There it is!). Before his sportsreporter career Mertaranta worked as a music teacher and fireman. He plays drums in a band called Anza Mertaranta Allstars. Hyvinkää
Hyvinkää (; sv, Hyvinge, ) is a city and municipality of Finland. It is located in the Uusimaa region, approximately north of the capital Helsinki. The city was chartered in 1960. The population of Hyvinkää is (). Its neighboring municipalities are Riihimäki and Hausjärvi in the north, Mäntsälä in the east, Tuusula and Nurmijärvi in the south, and Vihti and Loppi in the west. "Taivas varjele!" (English: "''Good heavens!''") is a Finnish language recording by Finnish Hockey Mafia featuring Finnish sports broadcaster and television personality Antero Mertaranta. The hit recording remixing portions of his broadcast comments he made live during the Russia - Finland ice hockey game on May 13, 2011 in a song. Mertaranta's comments came after the Finnish national ice hockey team's 19-year-old Finnish player Mikael Granlund scored the game's initial goal giving a crucial first goal to give his country an eventual 3–0 win in the game Finland–Russia in the semi-final of the 2011 IIHF World Championship hosted by Slovakia. When Granlund was behind the goal area, he managed to anchor the puck on his stick blade, lifted it off the ice, and threw the puck into the goal, which is known as a Michigan goal. MTV3 ( fi, MTV Kolme, sv, MTV Tre) is a Finnish commercial television station. It had the biggest audience share of all Finnish TV channels until Yle TV1 (from Yle) took the lead. The letters MTV stand for Mainos-TV (literally "Advertisement-TV", i.e. "Commercial TV), due to the channel carrying advertising for revenue. The Ice Hockey World Championships are an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
