Ante Bakmaz (born 7 March 1992) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for NWS Spirit FC. Early life Born in the suburbs of Sydney, Australia, Bakmaz moved to his country of origin, Croatia, after completing his studies in 2013. Club career Early career Starting his career in Australia, Bakmaz moved to Croatia in 2013. He played first for NK Trešnjevka, and then for NK Laduč in 2014, before moving to Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2015. He joined Dutch side Chabab, before moving to Ajax. He would, however, only play for the reserve teams. Latvia and Lithuania After the 2015–16 season, which left him injured and without a professional contract, Bakmaz moved to Maltese side St. Andrews in 2016. After six months, in 2017, he signed a one-year contract with Latvian club FK Jelgava. Australian-Croatian Soccer Tournament
The Australian-Croatian Soccer Tournament is a tournament run by the Croatian Soccer Federation of Australia and New Zealand, an organisation founded in 1974. The inspiration for the tournament came from the successful Croatian-North American Soccer Tournament founded in 1964. The Australian tournament kicked off in 1974 with an event staged in Melbourne, Australia where six soccer clubs participated at Melbourne Croatia's ground Montgomery Park in Essendon. The tournament was born. Although only six clubs participated, it was the beginning, a beginning spawned from Croatia Melbourne's expulsion from the Victorian Soccer Federation, with the clubs leadership including Tony Vrzina and Josip Solic together with Mirko Furjanic the now Honorary President of the Australian Croatian Soccer Tournament being the forerunners in getting the tournament up and going. Waratah Cup
The Waratah Cup is a knockout cup competition in New South Wales, run by the governing body of football in NSW, Football NSW. Teams competing in the Waratah Cup come from the National Premier Leagues NSW, National Premier Leagues NSW 2, National Premier Leagues NSW 3, National Premier Leagues NSW 4 and numerous other semi professional & amateur association clubs within New South Wales. The Cup is held during the NPL NSW seasons.
