Anne Stokes is a fantasy artist whose early work has appeared in role-playing games, particularly ''Dungeons & Dragons''. Early life Originally from London, Stokes has had an interest in the fantasy genre since her father read ''The Hobbit'' to her as a child. ''Available in All Colours'' is the debut album of British metal band One Minute Silence, released in 1998. It was released on Big Cat Records, and distributed by 3mv/Pinnacle in the UK, Sony Music in France, Rough Trade in Germany and Austria, M.N.W. in Scandinavia, Record Services in Ireland, P.I.A.S in Benelux and Universal in Italy. It was produced by Machine, and so, although One Minute Silence are a rap metal band, it has a hip hop quality to it. The album features cover artwork by Anne Stokes (the copyright is owned by Big Cat Records, however) which portrays fetuses in orange and green tubes with the labels "racist", "prophet", "anarchist", "humanitarian", "psychopath", "dictator", etc. It is intended as a comment on the isolation of capitalist society and the categorisation of individuals. ''Perils of the Deep Blue'' is the sixth studio album by the Norwegian gothic metal band Sirenia. It was released on June 28, 2013, in Europe, July 1 in the United Kingdom and July 9 in North America by Nuclear Blast. Produced by Morten Veland, it was mastered and mixed by Endre Kirkesola at Dub Studios in Norway. It was the band's last album released by Nuclear Blast, before the expiration of their long-term contract. Cover art The album cover art represents a fortuitous event. It was created by the British Gothic artist Anne Stokes. Veland found the sinister painting, titled "Siren's Lament" - a depiction of a reclining siren upon a rock in a sea cave, sliding her tail through the skulls of her (apparent) victims, as they float on the water surface - when he surfed the Internet looking for a suitable illustration for the album. Sirenia is a Norwegian gothic metal band from Stavanger, founded in 2001 by Morten Veland. The band uses melodic instrumentals, synthesizers, and distorted guitars with female vocals, male death vocals, clean male vocals, a choir, and violins. The lyrics are concerned with human existence, emotion, and mental states.
