Anna Korakaki
Anna Korakaki ( el, Άννα Κορακάκη, born 8 April 1996) is a Greek Olympic shooter. Career She represented Greece at the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal in the 25m pistol shot event and a Bronze medal in the 10m air pistol shooting event. The Gold medal she won for Greece was following a hiatus since the last Gold medal won for Greece, at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Her Olympic distinctions include: she was the first Greek woman in her maiden appearance at an Olympics (then aged 20 years) to be a multi-Olympic medalist for Greece at the same Olympiad, a fete last achieved by a Greek Olympic athlete at the 1912 Summer Olympics with Konstantinos Tsiklitiras. Shooting At The 2019 European Games
Shooting competitions at the 2019 European Games in Minsk were held between 22 and 28 June 2019. A total of 19 events were contested. The winner in each of the 12 individual events contained a quota place for the 2020 Summer Olympics. Qualification The 24 best ranked athletes in the individual events at the European Ranking Lists as of 31 December 2018 will qualify one quota place for their NOCs, respecting the maximum quota places allocation per NOC per event. 2020 Summer Olympics Torch Relay
The 2020 Summer Olympics torch relay was held from 12 March 2020 and ended on 23 July 2021. After being lit in Olympia, Greece, the torch was handed over to the Olympic shooting Gold medallist Anna Korakaki, who became the relay originating Olympian woman of the 2020 Summer Olympics torch relay. It was then transported to Athens on 19 March by official airliner Japan Airlines. The Japanese leg began in Fukushima, and is scheduled to end in Tokyo's New National Stadium, the main venue of the 2020 Olympics. It makes a tour of Japanese cities, including all 47 prefecture capitals. The torch is even scheduled to go to two remote island groups which are part of Tokyo. The end of the relay was the finale of the 2020 Summer Olympics opening ceremony on 23 July 2021. Konstantinos Tsiklitiras
Konstantinos "Kostas" Tsiklitiras ( el, Κωνσταντίνος "Κώστας" Τσικλητήρας; 30 October 1888 – 10 February 1913) was a Greek athlete and Olympic champion. Born in Pylos, he moved to Athens in 1905 to study commerce. Tsiklitiras soon took up sports and joined Panellinios GS. He practised football (for Panathinaikos after Panellinios suspended football activities) and water polo, but is best remembered for winning four Olympic medals in standing long jump and standing high jump in the 1908 and 1912 Summer Olympics. He was Greek champion 19 times. His career stopped in 1913 when he volunteered to fight in the Balkan Wars.
