Ann Curnow
(Elizabeth) Ann Marguerite Curnow (5 June 1935 – 11 May 2011) was a United Kingdom barrister and judge Life Curnow was born to Cecil and Doris Curnow in Burbage near Hinckley in 1935. Burbage is a large village in the Borough of Hinckley and Bosworth in Leicestershire, England.OS Explorer Map 232 : Nuneaton & Tamworth: (1:25 000) : According to the United Kingdom Census 2001 the parish had a population of 14,324, increasing to 14,568 at the 2011 census. History The village's name means 'valley/brook with a fortification'. Leofric, Earl of Mercia, gave the village of Burbage to Coventry Abbey in 1043. At that time it was valued at two shillings. By the time of the Domesday Book in 1086, its value had risen to £4. There were 1¼ hides of land (around ) with two ploughs. Twenty villagers held two smallholdings, with two slaves and eight ploughs. Burbage also had a meadow, measuring a furlong in length and width (about 40,500 square metres). The village also owned woodland half a league by four furlongs (2.2 square kilometres). In 1564 the diocesan returns show a population of 57 families within Burbage and six at Sketchley. St Thomas, Exeter
St Thomas (St Thomas the Apostle's) is an area of Exeter and formerly a civil parish and registration district in Devon, England, on the western side of the River Exe, connected to Exeter by Exe Bridge. It has a number of pubs, places of worship, several schools and a large shopping precinct. The population, according to the 2001 census, is 6,246, increasing to 6,455 at the 2011 Census. St Thomas ward is currently politically represented by County and City Councillor, Rob Hannaford and City Councillor Adrian Fullam. Queen's Counsel
In the United Kingdom and in some Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth countries, a King's Counsel (Post-nominal letters, post-nominal initials KC) during the reign of a king, or Queen's Counsel (post-nominal initials QC) during the reign of a queen regnant, queen, is a lawyer (usually a barrister or advocate) who is typically a senior trial lawyer. Technically appointed by the monarch of the country to be one of 'His [Her] Majesty's Counsel learned in the law', the position originated in England and Wales. Some Commonwealth countries have either abolished the position, or renamed it so as to remove monarchical connotations, for example, 'Senior counsel' or 'Senior Advocate'.
