Anke Rehlinger
Anke Gabriele Rehlinger ('' né'' Moos; born 6 April 1976) is a German lawyer and politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who has served as the Minister-President of Saarland since 25 April 2022. After her party won the 2022 state elections in Saarland, she became the second female Minister-President after Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer and the first from her party. She was previously the Deputy Minister President of Saarland from 17 December 2013 until her election by the State Parliament of Saarland as Minister President in 2022. Early life, education and sports Rehlinger studied law at Saarland University. During her time as a student, she was successful in field competitions in athletics. The Landtag of the Saarland is the state diet (assembly), diet of the German federal state of Saarland. It convenes in Saarbrücken and currently consists of 51 members of five parties. 2022 Saarland State Election
The Next Saarland state election will be held on 27 March 2022 to elect the 17th Landtag of Saarland. The current government is coalition of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Social Democratic Party (SPD) led by Minister-President Tobias Hans. Election date The Landtag is elected for five years, with its term commencing when the new Landtag first meets. Kevin Kühnert (born 1 July 1989) is a German politician and the General Secretary of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag since the 2021 elections, representing Berlin-Tempelhof-Schöneberg. 2017 German Federal Election
Federal elections were held in Germany on 24 September 2017 to elect the members of the 19th Bundestag. At stake were at least 598 seats in the Bundestag, as well as 111 overhang and leveling seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria ( CDU/CSU), led by incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel, won the highest percentage of the vote with 33%, though it suffered a large swing against it of more than 8%.
