Anka Wolbert
Anka Wolbert (also Anke Wolbert, born 10 June 1963) is a Dutch musician, singer, songwriter and web developer, best known for her work with Clan of Xymox. Music career Xymox, Clan of Xymox Anka Wolbert co-founded the band Xymox with Ronny Moorings in 1981, self-publishing their first mini-album '' Subsequent Pleasures'' in 1983. Pieter Nooten joined the band as third songwriter shortly after this release. With the name Xymox lengthened to Clan of Xymox, they signed a recording contract with independent UK label 4AD and released their eponymous debut album ''Clan of Xymox'' in 1985. The track ''7th Time'', with Anka Wolbert on lead vocals, was picked up by John Peel, leading to the band recording twice at the legendary Peel Sessions at the BBC, in June and November 1985. Curve (band)
Curve were an English alternative rock and electronic music duo from London, formed in 1990 and split in 2005. The band consisted of Toni Halliday (vocals, occasionally guitar) and Dean Garcia (bass, guitar, drums, programming). Halliday wrote the lyrics of their songs and they both contributed to songwriting. Producer Alan Moulder was a prominent collaborator who helped shape their blend of heavy beats and densely–layered guitar tracks set against Halliday's vocals. Antoinette "Toni" Halliday (born 5 July 1964) is an English musician best known as the lead vocalist, lyricist, and occasional guitarist of the alternative rock band Curve, along with Dean Garcia. She was also a member of the bands Photofitz, The Uncles, State of Play and Scylla. Halliday released solo work as Toni Halliday and Chatelaine. She collaborated with artists like Robert Plant, Recoil, The Future Sound of London, Leftfield, Paul van Dyk, Freaky Chakra, DJ? Acucrack, Headcase, The Killers, Acid Android, and Orbital. Halliday has a contralto vocal range. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. ''Twist of Shadows'' is Xymox's third full-length album, released in 1989 on Wing Records (PolyGram) and produced by Peter Walsh (acclaimed producer of Simple Minds's New Gold Dream album). The album captured Billboard's "Hot Shot Debut" honor and charted in the United States at #165 on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''Twist of Shadows'' launched several charting singles in the United States. PolyGram
PolyGram N.V. was a multinational entertainment company and major music record label formerly based in the Netherlands.
