Animosity (band)
Animosity was an American death metal band from San Francisco, California, formed in 2000. The band released three studio albums, toured in the United States and Europe, and disbanded in 2009. The classic lineup of Animosity consisted of vocalist Leo Miller, guitarists Frank Costa and Chase Fraser, bassist Evan Brewer and drummer Navene Koperweis. History Animosity formed in 2000 in San Francisco, California. They released their debut album, '' Shut It Down'', on Tribunal Records in 2003, when the members of the band were 16 and 17 years old. In 2005, they released their second disc, ''Empires'', on Black Market Activities (with distribution through Metal Blade Records) and toured the United States with Origin and Malevolent Creation. Origin is an American technical death metal band from Topeka, Kansas, founded in 1990 under the monikers Necrotomy and Thee Abomination. They have been recognized by music critics and metal fans alike for combining a harsh sound with a high level of technical skill. Origin's music is characterized by almost exclusive use of several specific, difficult playing techniques: blast beats on the drum kit, multiple death growled vocals, and arpeggios and sweep picking on both the guitars and the bass guitar. Light This City is an American melodic death metal band from the Bay Area of San Francisco, that has been active from 2002. The band is notable for the aggressive vocal approach of frontwoman Laura Nichol. History Light This City's first album, ''The Hero Cycle'', was released through Reflections on Ruin Records in 2003. Tyler Gamlen (guitars) and Ben Murray (drums) were the co-founders of Reflections of Ruin Records, and the album was also the label's first official release. The band's next three albums — ''Remains of the Gods'' (2005), ''Facing the Thousand'' (2006), and '' Stormchaser'' (2008) — were released through Prosthetic Records. Fallujah has toured with acts such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Carnifex, Thy Art Is Murder, Dying Fetus, Between the Buried and Me, and The Contortionist. History Formation (2007-2010) Fallujah was founded in early 2007 by high school friends Alex Hofmann, Scott Carstairs, Tommy Logan, Dan Wissinger, and Suliman Arghandiwal. The band name comes from the Iraqi city of Fallujah, located in the Al Anbar province. Animals as Leaders is an American instrumental progressive metal band from Washington, D.C. It currently consists of guitarists Tosin Abasi and Javier Reyes and drummer Matt Garstka, having been formed by Abasi in 2007. They are a prominent band within the djent scene. Prosthetic Records released the band's eponymous debut album in 2009. They went on to release the albums '' Weightless'' (2011), ''The Joy of Motion'' (2014), ''The Madness of Many'' (2016), and ''Parrhesia'' (2022). The Faceless are an American technical death metal band from the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. Rise and Fall was a Belgian hardcore punk band from Ghent, formed 2002 by members of The Deal and Kingpin. They were among a few European bands currently signed to American hardcore label Deathwish Inc.
