Animal Crackers In My Soup
"Animal Crackers in My Soup" is a song introduced by Shirley Temple in the film ''Curly Top'' (1935). The lyrics were written by Irving Caesar and Ted Koehler and the music by Ray Henderson; the sheet music was published by Sam Fox Publishing Company. Numerous singles and albums containing the Shirley Temple version of the song exist, including at least one CD with it as title track. Temple's version made the Hit Parade, but did not attain the popularity of her earlier hit "On the Good Ship Lollipop", which was for the year. It was recorded by Don Bestor and his orchestra (Brunswick 7495) and Mae Questel, voice of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl, released a recording of the song in the 1930s. Two members of The Irish Rovers, one of whom is dressed up like Temple, sing the song in one sketch as part of one of the 1971 episodes of ''The Irish Rovers Show''. Ray Henderson
Ray Henderson (born Raymond Brost; December 1, 1896 – December 31, 1970) was an American songwriter. Early life Born in Buffalo, New York, United States, Henderson moved to New York City and became a popular composer in Tin Pan Alley. He was one third of a successful songwriting and music publishing team with Lew Brown and Buddy De Sylva from 1925 through 1930, responsible for several editions of the revue called ''George White's Scandals'' and such book musicals as '' Good News'', '' Hold Everything!'', and ''Follow Thru''. After De Sylva's departure, Henderson continued to write with Brown through 1933. Then, he worked with other partners. In 1934, he composed the musical '' Say When'' with lyricist Ted Koehler. Although the album did not make any of the major charts in the US or Canada, it was certified Platinum in Canada. The album was initially reissued in 1979 by Sesame Street Records retitled ''Anne Murray Sings for the ''Sesame Street'' Generation''. It was again reissued in 2001 in CD format by EMI Music Canada, including three extra songs that were not on the original album. ''What's the Matter With Helen?'' is a 1971 American exploitation horror film directed by Curtis Harrington and starring Debbie Reynolds and Shelley Winters.
