Anima Sound System
Anima Sound System is a Hungarian electronic band founded in 1993 in Szombathely. ''Anima'' is one of the first and most important Hungarian electronic acts, a unique fusion of Eastern-European folk music and modern electronic styles. The band is currently signed to the Mole Listening Pearls record label. The band soon developed strong ties with the underground Tilos Rádió station in Budapest. Their first international performance, in 1996, took place in Vienna at " Soundsfair Festival", (as the only Eastern-European act) along with bands like Red Snapper, Goldie and Nightmares on Wax. Their remix of the Hungarian national anthem, Himnusz, was released on their Bujdosó EP and aired live from Tilos Radio's New Year party in 2000, then went on to cause controversy in Hungarian media. CLS Music is a Budapest based independent record label, founded in 2002 in music, 2002 as CLS Records. In 2010 in music, 2010, the company changed its name to "CLS Music" to reflect a shift in the company's focus from releasing records to more wide-scope musical management. The company is also a major redistributor of foreign independent and electronic music releases in Hungary. At the end of 2013, the CLS Music label was run by Egység Média Kft, founded by one of the owners of CLS Records in 2008. From the second half of 2013, Egység Média releases music under the Egység Média / CLS Music label. In 2016, Egység Média was one of the 21 labels nominated for the IMPALA FIVEUNDERFIFTEEN campaign shining a light on Europe's most inspiring young labels. Hungaroton
Hungaroton is the oldest record and music publisher company in Hungary. Hungaroton was founded in 1951, when its only competitors in the Hungarian music market were record labels like Melodiya, Supraphon and from other socialist countries. Previously called Qualiton, its name was changed to Hungaroton in the mid-1960s, though the Qualiton brand remained as a label for operetta and gypsy music releases. Also new popular music, rock and jazz labels (Pepita, Bravó, and Krém) were founded. In the early 1990s the massive import of foreign records caused a serious decrease in Hungaroton's sales. Although the original company went into liquidation, new and smaller companies arose on the ruins of Hungaroton. The Hungaroton Gong and Hungaroton Classic companies went private in 1995, and were reunited in 1998 under the name Hungaroton Records Publisher Ltd.
