Keith Joseph (bishop)
Keith Ronald Joseph (born 1960) is an Australian bishop in the Anglican Church of Australia. He has served as the 11th Bishop of North Queensland since 31 March 2019. Joseph holds a PhD in applied ethics. Prior to ordination, he worked as a lecturer in philosophy, as well as a soldier and officer in the Australian Army and an administrative officer with the Australian Federal Police. He was ordained in 2006 in the Diocese of Central Melanesia in the Solomon Islands, working there until 2010. After returning to Australia he served in the Diocese of Newcastle, Joseph worked from 2011 to 2013 as priest at the Anglican Parish of Mount Vincent, Kurri Kurri and Weston. On 8 November 2013 Joseph was commissioned as Dean of the Darwin Cathedral, a role which he held until he was appointed Bishop of North Queensland. George Frodsham
George Horsfall Frodsham (1863–1937) was an English-born Anglican priest. From 1902 to 1913 he was the Bishop of North Queensland in Australia. Early life Frodsham was born in Sale Moor, Cheshire, England on 14 September 1863, the son of James Frodsham and his wife Jane (née Horsfall). He was educated at Birkenhead School and University College, Durham. Religious life Frodsham trained for ordination at St Aidan's College, Birkenhead and was ordained both deacon and priest in 1889. His first positions were curacies at St Thomas' Leeds and St Margaret's Ilkley. From 1896 he was Rector of St Thomas’ in Toowong, Brisbane, Queensland and then chaplain to the Bishop of Brisbane. In 1902 it was announced that he would become Bishop of North Queensland, and he was consecrated as such on 17 August 1902 at St Andrew's Cathedral, Sydney, by Archbishop Saumarez Smith. The Society of the Sacred Mission (SSM), with the associated Company of the Sacred Mission, is an Anglican religious order founded in 1893 by Father Herbert Kelly, envisaged such that "members of the Society share a common life of prayer and fellowship in a variety of educational, pastoral and community activities". Ian Shevill
Ian Wotton Allnutt Shevill AO (11 May 19173 November 1988) was an Australian Anglican bishop. Early life and education Ian Shevill was educated at Scots College, Sydney, and Sydney University, then at Moore Theological College and the Australian College of Theology. Ordained ministry Shevill was ordained in 1941 and his first position was as a curate of St Paul's, Burwood. From 1948 to 1953 he worked for the Society for the Propagation of Gospel (USPG). In 1953, he was ordained to the episcopate as Bishop of North Queensland, a post he held for 17 years. He was enthroned on 23 April 1953 at St James' Cathedral, Townsville. Shevill was nicknamed "the boy bishop" as he was only 34 when he became Bishop of North Queensland, then the world's youngest Anglican bishop. Wilfrid Bernard Belcher MC, (25 July 1891 – 28 January 1963) was an Anglican bishop in the mid 20th century. Early life Belcher was educated at King's School, Bruton and Keble College, Oxford, the son of William Henry Belcher, a Newbury solicitor and his wife, Mary. Religious life Belcher was ordained in 1922. His early career was spent with the Bush Brotherhood in Australia. He held incumbencies at Rickmansworth, Cheshunt and Durban before being appointed Bishop of North Queensland in 1947, a post he held for five years. He was consecrated a bishop on 15 February 1948.
