Andy Last (born 25 March 1981) is an English professional rugby league coach who is the assistant coach for the England national rugby league team and a former professional rugby league footballer. He is a former head coach of Hull FC and the Castleford Tigers in the Super League. He played as a for Hull FC in the Super League between 1999 and 2005. Background Last was born in Kingston upon Hull, Humberside, England. Playing career On 1 August 1999, Last made his Super League debut for Hull FC against the Warrington Wolves. Impact Of The COVID-19 Pandemic On Rugby League
The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the sport of rugby league in both the northern and southern hemispheres with the two major league competitions suspended for periods and numerous other leagues and cup competitions cancelled or abandoned. Australia and New Zealand NRL The World Health Organization declared the global pandemic on 11 March, the day before the 2020 NRL season was scheduled to start. The first round of games went ahead as scheduled but the pandemic restrictions already had an effect as attendances were lower than anticipated. Between rounds 1 and 2 the New Zealand Government introduced quarantine restrictions which would have meant the New Zealand Warriors having to go into a 14-day quarantine period had they returned home after their round 1 match. Huddersfield Giants are an English professional rugby league club from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, the birthplace of rugby league, who play in the Super League competition. Willie Poching is a New Zealand professional rugby league football coach and former player. He is the former head-coach of Wakefield Trinity in the Super League. When he was appointed head coach of Wakefield, he became the first Samoan head coach of a first grade rugby league club. Chris Chester (born 8 October 1978) is an English professional rugby league coach who is the former head coach of Wakefield Trinity in the Betfred Super League and Scotland at international level, and a former professional rugby league footballer.
