André Sapir
André Sapir is a Belgian economist and professor at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management ( Université Libre de Bruxelles). He is also a senior fellow at Bruegel, the Brussels-based think tank. Professional career Sapir holds a PhD from Johns Hopkins University, where he studied with Bela Balassa. He then was an assistant professor of economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from 1977 to 1982, before returning to his native Brussels. From 2001 to 2004 he was economic adviser to European Commission President Romano Prodi. As such, he was the coordinator of the landmark report on Europe's growth policy known as the Sapir Report. IDEAS Foundation For Progress
The Ideas Foundation for Progress ( es, Fundación Ideas para el Progreso), also known as the Fundación IDEAS (IDEAS Foundation), was a Spanish think tank that works on political ideas and proposals for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). Debarati Guha-Sapir (born in Kolkata, India) is an Indian epidemiologist and public health researcher based in Belgium. She is the director of the Université catholique de Louvain Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters. Early life and education Guha-Sapir holds a BA with honors in humanities from the University of Calcutta (1974), a M.S. in epidemiology and biostatistics from Johns Hopkins University (1977) and a Ph.D. in epidemiology and preventive medicine from the Université catholique de Louvain (1991). Helen Wallace
Dame Helen Sarah Wallace, Lady Wallace of Saltaire, DBE, CMG, FBA, MAE, FAcSS (born 25 June 1946 in Whalley Range, Manchester), née Rushworth, is a British expert in European studies and, by marriage to William Wallace, Baron Wallace of Saltaire, a peeress. He is a fellow at think tanks Bruegel in Brussels and the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, D.C. He is also a senior professor in economics and public management at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, and a professor at the European University Institute near Florence.
