André Pronovost
André Joseph Armand Pronovost (born July 9, 1936) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. Pronovost played in the National Hockey League (NHL) and several minor professional leagues in North America between 1955 and 1972. Pronovost was a member of four Stanley Cup-winning teams of the Montreal Canadiens in the 1950s. André is often confused as being the brother of Marcel, Claude, and Jean Pronovost but is unrelated. Playing career Pronovost began his career with the Montreal Canadiens in the 1956 season. He also played with the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, and Minnesota North Stars. Pronovost was a member of four Stanley Cup winning teams in 1956–57, 1957–58, 1958–59, and 1959-60, all during the Canadiens' dynasty. Personal Pronovost's grandson, Anthony Mantha, currently plays for the Washington Capitals. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. Anthony Mantha
Anthony Mantha (born September 16, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Mantha was drafted 20th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior As a youth, Mantha played in the 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Collège-Français Rive-Sud minor ice hockey team. He was drafted 76th overall in the 2010 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Val-d'Or Foreurs. During the 2010–11 season, Mantha made his QMJHL debut in December, appearing in two games with Val-d'or, spending most of the season with the College Charles-Lemoyne Riverains in Quebec's midget AAA league. During the 2011–12 season, Mantha played in 63 games for Val-d'or in his first full year in the QMJHL. Mantha finished with 22 goals and 29 assists. 1961–62 NHL Season
The 1961–62 NHL season was the 45th season of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Toronto Maple Leafs were the Stanley Cup champions as they defeated the Chicago Black Hawks four games to two. League business At a meeting of the owners and governors, Conn Smythe resigned as Toronto's governor, to be replaced by his son, Stafford Smythe. Thereupon, Conn Smythe was appointed honorary governor. Pre-season A big trade took place between the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers with Doug Harvey and Albert Langlois going to the Rangers for Lou Fontinato. Quebec Senior Hockey League
The Quebec Senior Hockey League (QSHL) was an ice hockey league that operated from 1941 to 1959 , based in Quebec, Canada. The league played senior ice hockey under the jurisdiction of the Quebec Amateur Hockey Association until 1953, when it became professional and operated as the Quebec Hockey League (QHL).
