André Bossert
André Robert Bossert (born 14 November 1963) is a Swiss professional golfer. Early life and education Bossert was born to Swiss parents in Johannesburg, South Africa, and played college golf at Oral Roberts University and University of Tulsa in the United States. Professional career Bossert turned professional in 1989 and has played on the European Tour, the Southern Africa-based Sunshine Tour and the second tier European Challenge Tour. The main highlight of his career was his sole European Tour victory, which came in 1995 at the Air France Cannes Open. He was the first Swiss winner on the European Tour. He has also won the 1990 Neuchâtel Open and the 1992 Kenya Open on the Challenge Tour. He has represented his country in international team competitions several times. Jean van de Velde (born 29 May 1966) is a French professional golfer, who formerly played on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. He came close to winning The Open Championship in 1999, but lost a three shot lead on the final hole. Early life and amateur career Van de Velde was born in Mont-de-Marsan, Landes, France. As an amateur he won both the French Youths Championship and the French Amateur Championship. He represented his country at the European Youths' Team Championship and also at the 1986 Eisenhower Trophy in Caracas, Venezuela, were his team finished tied 8th and van de Velde best French player, tied 11th individually. Sam Walker (golfer)
Sam James Walker (born 1 March 1978) is an English professional golfer. Career Walker was born in Birmingham and turned professional in 2000. He came through the ranks, starting his career on the third tier MasterCard Tour before graduating to the Challenge Tour and finally the top level European Tour. He has struggled to establish himself at the highest level, only retaining his card once in 2007 when he finished 80th on the Order of Merit. Markus Brier
Markus Brier (born 5 July 1968) is an Austrian professional golfer. He won twice on the European Tour and in 2008 was his country's second highest ranked player, behind Bernd Wiesberger. Career Brier won the Swiss and German Amateur Opens in the mid-1990s, and turned professional in 1995 at a relatively late age. Nine top ten finishes, including five top threes, on the 1999 Challenge Tour earned him third place on the season ending money list and playing privileges on the European Tour for 2000. He retained his tour card through his final position on the order of merit every year, except for 2002 and 2010 when he regained it through final qualifying school. Since joining the European Tour, Brier has continued to play in his home event, the Austrian Open, winning it on two occasions during a period when it was a Challenge Tour event. Craig Maltman
Thomas Craig Maltman (born 23 March 1953) is a Scottish professional golfer. He had some successes in Scottish events, winning the Scottish Assistants' Championship three times and winning the Tartan Tour Order of Merit in 1989 after winning the Sunderland Sportswear Masters and the Ram Classic that year. He played on the Safari Circuit, winning 1989 Zambia Open and the 1993 Kenya Open. Professional career Maltman had been an assistant greenkeeper at Dunbar before turning professional. He was an assistant as Knebworth and then at Beadlow Manor. He won the Scottish Assistants' Championship three times, in 1972, 1975 and 1976, and was also runner-up, behind Jim Noon, in 1974. The Kenya Open, titled as the Magical Kenya Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament in Kenya founded in 1967. History The Kenya Open was an associate event on the Far East Circuit in 1967 and 1968, after which it became a cornerstone of the emerging Safari Circuit – a collection of tournaments initially in Kenya and Zambia, and then later in Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe. The European Tour, who had taken over running of the Safari Tour in the late 1970s, began to expand globally through the 1980s and those events formally became part of the second tier Challenge Tour in 1991.
