Andru Branch
Andru Branch (born June 27, 1968) is a Canadian reggae musician. He is the lead singer-songwriter of the reggae band ''Andru Branch & Halfway Tree''. He was nominated for a Juno Award for his debut 1998 album ''What If I Told You''. Early life Branch was born Andru Reginald Arnold Branch on June 27, 1968, in Sackville, New Brunswick. Career Branch was signed to independent Jamaican record label Kingston Muzik in 1996. Branch recorded and mixed his 1998 debut album ''What If I Told You'' at Kingston Muzik Studio in Kingston, Jamaica. Its title was taken from a popular saying ("the only constant in life is change") favoured by Andru's late mother. Sackville, New Brunswick
Sackville is a town in southeastern New Brunswick, Canada. It is home to Mount Allison University, a primarily undergraduate liberal arts university. Historically based on agriculture, shipbuilding, and manufacturing, the economy is now driven by the university and tourism. Initially part of the French colony of Acadia, the settlement became part of the British colony of Nova Scotia in 1755 following the Expulsion of the Acadians. ''The Daily News'' was a tabloid newspaper in Halifax, Nova Scotia, that was published from 1974 until ceasing operations in February 2008. History ''The Daily News'' owed its existence to David Bentley, who, along with his wife Diana and Patrick and Joyce Sims, founded The Great Eastern News Company Ltd. in 1974 and started publishing a weekly broadsheet named ''The Bedford-Sackville News''. This paper focused on the suburban communities of Bedford and Lower Sackville within the Halifax-Dartmouth metropolitan area. Studio One (record Label)
Studio One is one of Jamaica's most renowned record labels and recording studios; it has been described as the Motown of Jamaica. The record label was involved with most of the major music movements in Jamaica during the 1960s and 1970s, including ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub and dancehall. History Studio One was founded by Clement "Coxsone" Dodd in 1954, and the first recordings were cut in 1963 on Brentford Road in Kingston. Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques OD (born 9 January 1973) is a Jamaican rapper and singer who is regarded as one of dancehall's most prolific artists. Adidja Azim Palmer (born 7 January 1976), better known as Vybz Kartel, is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall recording artist, composer, record producer, and entrepreneur. Among his various nicknames, he is referred to as "Worl' Boss". As summarized by ''Rolling Stone'', he "attained folk-hero status in Jamaica with provocative lyrics, and a mischievous public persona", and "few have captivated he dancehallaudience – or offended the sensibilities of its detractors – as consistently and thoroughly as Kartel."
