Andrey Romanov (russian: Андрей Романов, born 10 July 1979 in Moscow) is a Russian auto racing driver and director of MTV/NRG. Career He has driven in the Russian Lada Cup and the Russian Honda Civic Cup, as well as the Russian Touring Car Championship. In 2007 he finished as runner-up in the German ADAC Procar Series. FIA WTCC Race Of Europe
The FIA WTCC Race of Europe was a round of the World Touring Car Championship, which was held at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari near Imola in Italy during the 2008 season. A round at the newly rebuilt Imola circuit was added to the 2008 calendar as replacement for the Race of Sweden which had been cancelled following a request from the Swedish National Sporting Authority after the WTCC failed to reach a commercial agreement with the event's promoters. As there was already a Race of Italy in the 2008 calendar this round was named the Race of Europe. Incidentally, Imola had previously hosted an additional round of the championship in 2005, under the title of Race of San Marino. Monza was dropped from the 2009 calendar, so the Imola round became the Race of Italy. The FIA WTCC Race of Mexico was a round of the World Touring Car Championship, held at the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed near the city of Puebla in Mexico. The race was first run in the 2005 season, the first season of the revived series. It was run every year between 2005 and 2009 except in the 2007 season, when the planned event was cancelled due to problems with the Puebla circuit, although these problems were addressed for 2008. The event was run in June in 2005, in July in 2006, in April in 2008 and in March in 2009. The 2010 running was cancelled due to security fears in the region. 2008 World Touring Car Championship
The 2008 World Touring Car Championship season was the fifth World Touring Car Championship season, the fourth since its 2005 return. It began on 2 March, and ended on 16 November, after twenty-four races. The championship, which was open to Super 2000 Cars and Diesel 2000 Cars, was composed of the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Drivers and the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Manufacturers. Frenchman Yvan Muller won the Drivers title by 26 points from SEAT team-mate Gabriele Tarquini, with Chevrolet's Robert Huff finishing third just a point behind Tarquini. The WTCR Race of Macau, previously Guia Race of Macau and WTCC Guia Race of Macau, is an international touring car race, and currently a round of the World Touring Car Cup. It is held on the temporary 6.2 km Guia Circuit on the streets of Macau, the Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China as part of the Macau Grand Prix weekend. The FIA WTCR Race of Italy is a round of the World Touring Car Championship that has taken place in Italy. It will be held at Vallelunga Circuit in 2022 season. In 2021, it was held at the extended version of Adria International Raceway. Before that, it was mostly held at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza near Milan, Lombardy. The Race of Italy was the first round of the WTCC after its return in 2005. The FIA WTCC Race of UK event was a round of the World Touring Car Championship that took place in the United Kingdom. It was last held at Donington Park near Castle Donington in Leicestershire. The race had previously been held at Donington Park from 2002, when the series was known as the European Touring Car Championship but with promotion to world championship status, the event switched to Silverstone in Northamptonshire for 2005. The race was moved to Brands Hatch in Kent for 2006, where it used the full Grand Prix layout. In 2011, the race moved back to Donington Park. The race was left out of the 2012 schedule. In 2012, World Touring Car Championship promoter Marcello Lotti said the Race of UK was unlikely to return to the calendar in 2013 as the series looked to expand to events outside Europe. The FIA WTCR Race of Germany, previously known as the FIA WTCC Race of Germany, is a round of the World Touring Car Cup, which originally was held at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in Germany. The race ran at Oschersleben every year since the return of World Touring Car Championship from 2005 to 2011. It was left off the 2012 calendar. The event returned to the calendar in 2015, this time hosted at the Nürburgring Nordschleife as part of the 24 Hours Nürburgring weekend. The races are three laps each. The FIA WTCR Race of Portugal (known as the FIA WTCC Race of Portugal from 2007 to 2017) is a motor racing event held in Portugal as part of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) series, and formerly the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).
