Andreas Zagklis
Andreas Zagklis ( el, Ανδρέας Ζαγκλής; born 1980) is a Greek lawyer and basketball executive, who is the current secretary general of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Early life and education Zagklis received his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from the Law School of the University of Athens while he spent two semesters as a visiting student at the University of Salamanca and the University of Western Ontario respectively. He also completed the postgraduate programme on Olympic Studies at the International Olympic Academy. Most recently, Zagklis attended the Leadership in Corporate Counsel programme at the Harvard Law School. Zagklis is a research fellow at the Hellenic Center of Research on sports law and is recognized as a sports law expert for Greece, appointed by the Asser International Sports Law Center, based in The Hague, in various projects commissioned by the European Union. Patrick Baumann (basketball)
Patrick Baumann (5 August 196713 October 2018) was a Swiss basketball executive, player and coach. He was the President of the Global Association of International Sports Federations and Secretary General of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). He was posthumously inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020. Background Baumann was born in Basel on 5 August 1967. He was involved in many aspects of the basketball world. He played basketball while in Italy and also served as a referee. In Switzerland, he trained referees, coached a basketball team, ran clinics and organized tournaments. Melissia
Melissia ( el, Μελίσσια) is a suburb in the northeastern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Penteli, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 3.956 km2. Melissia is situated at the southwestern foot of the Penteli mountains, 12 km northeast of Athens city centre. It is a green residential town. It was part of the municipality of Marousi until 1946, when it became a separate community. It became a municipality in 1990. The population of Melissia was more than 22,000 at the 2011 census. 2006 Winter Olympics
The 2006 Winter Olympics, officially the XX Olympic Winter Games ( it, XX Giochi olimpici invernali) and also known as Torino 2006, were a winter multi-sport event held from 10 to 26 February 2006 in Turin, Italy. This marked the second time Italy had hosted the Winter Olympics, the first being in 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo; Italy had also hosted the Summer Olympics in 1960 in Rome. Turin was selected as the host city for the 2006 Games in June 1999. The official motto of Torino 2006 was "Passion lives here". The Games' logo depicted a stylized profile of the Mole Antonelliana building, drawn in white and blue ice crystals, signifying the snow and the sky. Arvydas Macijauskas (born January 19, 1980) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player. Standing at tall, he played at the shooting guard position. He was one of the greatest Lithuanian players of the 2000s, as he won numerous individual awards, as well as club and national team titles. After starting his professional career with Neptūnas, he later played for some top EuroLeague teams, such as Tau Ceramica and Olympiacos. Michalis "Mika" Kakiouzis (alternate spellings: Michail, Michailis, Mihalis) (Greek: Μιχάλης Κακιούζης; born November 29, 1976) is a Greek professional basketball coach and former player. He is currently working as head coach for Keravnos of the Cyprus Basketball Division A. At a height of 2.07 m (6 ft. 9 in.) tall, he was able to play at both the small forward and power forward positions.
