Andreas Ulvo
Andreas Ulvo (born 22 July 1983 in Kongsvinger, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz pianist, organist, keyboardist and composer, known from cooperations with Shining, Ingrid Olava, Mathias Eick Quartet, Solveig Slettahjell & Slow Motion Orchestra, Karl Seglem and Thom Hell. Career Ulvo holds a master's degree in Jazz and Improvisation from Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. He has with his own projects Eple Trio, a Norwegian contemporary jazz trio playing their own original music, been on tour in Japan 2010, playing gigs in Tokyo, Chiba, Kobe, Kanazawa, Yokohama and Saitama. In addition he has "Ulvo Ensemble", and have worked with bands and artists like Shining, Mathias Eick Quartet, Solveig Slettahjell & Slow Motion Orchestra, "Frøy Aagre Offbeat", Karl Seglem and Thom Hell to mention some. Elvira Nikolaisen (born 16 July 1980 in Moi) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter signed for Sony BMG. She released her debut single ''Love I Can't Defend'' in December 2005, it reached the number 3 spot on the Norwegian singles list. She followed up the hit with her first album, '' Quiet Exit'', and a second single, ''Egypt Song'', in March 2006. The album peaked at No. 2 in the Norwegian chart. Frøy Aagre (born 8 June 1977 in Tønsberg, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz saxophonist. Career Aagre is one of the leading saxophonists of Norway, playing tenor and soprano saxophone with an individual sound that builds on inspirations by such saxophonists as Dave Liebman and Wayne Shorter. She has studied saxophone and composition in Oslo, Birmingham, London, New York and Buenos Aires. Aagre was awarded the Norwegian Government scholarship for the year 2005/2006. Frode Haltli (born 15 May 1975 in Levanger), is a Norwegian accordion player. Biography Haltli started to play the accordion at the age of seven and over the following few years he won several national competitions and scholarships and was awarded first prize in Norwegian TV's ' ''1991''. NorCD (established 1991 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian record label for folk, jazz, world music and improvisational music, led by the founder saxophonist and composer Karl Seglem. NorCD is distributed through Musikkoperatørene, and is a member of FONO. Biography In 1991 Karl Seglem decided to create a new free record label to distribute his music. The company soon enlisted a number of Norwegian performers in different genres. A derivation of the company was the label SOFA, which focused on the European improv, led by Ingar Zach and Ivar Grydeland. The NorCD catalog features 110 CD-titles (spring 2012) with many of the foremost Norwegian jazz and folk musicians. Jonas Howden Sjøvaag (born 3 November 1978 in Munich, Germany) is a Norwegian jazz drummer. Biography Sjøvaag started playing piano at an early age. He had his solo debut with Vestfold Youth Symphony Orchestra at age 11, started playing drums at age 10, and switched main focus to jazz drums at age 17. He graduated at the Norwegian Academy of Music with a Master's degree in improvised music in 2008. From 2003 he has been regular drummer of the Eple Trio.
