Andreas Bruce
Ferdinand "Andreas" Edvard Bruce, born as Christina "Therese" Isabelle Jeanette Louise Bruce (1808–1885), was a Swedish memoir writer. His story was the first memoir written by a transsexual person in Sweden and is regarded as unique in many aspects. Early life Bruce was born to the nobleman and courtier Adam Bruce and Fredrica Charlotta Wijnblad. During his upbringing, he regarded himself as male, and wrestled with his brother with the approval of the father, and was generally referred to as ''Lilla Fröken Herrn'' ("Little Miss Mister"). As he reached adulthood, however, the family demanded he behave as a female. At the age of sixteen, he made an attempt to run away from home dressed as a male. After this, his father took him to be examined by a physician, Anders Johan Hagströmer, professor in anatomy and surgery in Stockholm. Lasse-Maja
Lars Larsson Molin, alias ''Lasse-Maja'' (Djupdalen, Ramsberg, Västmanland, 5 October 1785 – 4 June 1845, Arboga), was a notorious Swedish thief and memoirist. He was famous in history for disguising himself as a woman during his tours as a thief. His disguise gave him the nickname ''Lasse-Maja'', a combination of the male name ''Lars'' and the female name ''Maja''. He wrote his own memoirs, which became very popular in 19th-century Sweden. Biography Early life Lasse-Maja was the son of the tailor Lars Olsson and Stina Olsdotter. He was raised on the '' torp'' Nöden in the village Djupdalen in the Ramsberg parish in Västmanland. The Swedish nobility ( sv, Adeln eller Ridderskapet och Adeln) has historically been a legally and/or socially privileged class in Sweden, and part of the so-called ''frälse'' (a derivation from Old Swedish meaning ''free neck''). The archaic term for nobility, ''frälse'', also included the clergy, a classification defined by tax exemptions and representation in the diet (the Riksdag). Today the nobility does not maintain its former legal privileges although family names, titles and coats of arms are still protected.
