Jeneponto Regency ( mak, ᨍᨙᨊᨙᨄᨚᨈᨚ, Je’ne’ponto, ) is a regency of South Sulawesi Province of Indonesia. It covers the south coast of the southern peninsula of Sulawesi, with a total area of 749.79 km2 and a population of 342,222 at the 2010 Census and 401,610 at the 2020 Census. The official estimate for mid 2021 was 405,508. The principal town lies at Bontosunggu. South Sulawesi ( id, Sulawesi Selatan) is a province in the southern peninsula of Sulawesi. The Selayar Islands archipelago to the south of Sulawesi is also part of the province.
