Anders Løwlie
Anders Jensen Løwlie (6 April 1843 – 9 March 1924) was a Norwegian businessman and sports official. Løwlie was born in Romedal to farmer and blacksmith Jens Helgesen Løvlien and Randi Olsdatter Skee, and married Oline Augusta Jacobsen in 1877. He was manager of the distillery from 1865, and of ''Kristiania Brændevinssamlag'' from 1886. Løwlie played a central role in development of the recipe for Løiten Akvavit, based on caraway from Dovre. From 1887 to 1892 he chaired the sports association Centralforeningen for utbredelse af idræt. He was a decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1901. Romedal
Romedal is a former municipality in the old Hedmark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964 when it became part of Stange Municipality. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Romedal where Romedal Church is located. Other villages in Romedal included Ilseng and Starhellinga. The municipality centered around the agriculture and forestry industries. History The parish of Romedal was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt law). During the 1960s, there were many municipal mergers across Norway due to the work of the Schei Committee. On 1 January 1964, the municipality of Romedal (population: 6,441) was merged with the neighboring municipality of Stange (population: 9,734). ''Akvavit'' or ''aquavit'' (; also ''akevitt'' in Norwegian; ''aquavit'' in English) is a distilled spirit that is principally produced in Scandinavia, where it has been produced since the 15th century. Dovrefjell
Dovrefjell is a mountain range in Central Norway that forms a natural barrier between Eastern Norway and Trøndelag. The mountain range is located in Innlandet, Møre og Romsdal, and Trøndelag counties in Norway. As a result of its central location, its valleys and passes have been heavily trafficked during and probably preceding historical times. Several mountain inns were established in the Middle Ages to house pilgrims traveling through Dovrefjell to Trondheim, and there are even ruins of an old leper colony in the northern area of it. The main south-north highway ( European route E6) and the Dovrebanen railway line both run through a mountain pass in the Dovrefjell range. The highway is a year-round highway but on rare occasions it is closed for short periods during heavy winter weather conditions. Olaf Wilhelm Petersen (13 December 1841 – 31 July 1909) was a Norwegian military officer and sports official. Personal life Petersen was born in Christiania to Peter Munch Petersen and Elisabeth Faye, and married Karen Faye in 1871. Career Petersen graduated from the Norwegian Military Academy in 1861, and studied further at the Norwegian Military College and at ''Centralinstituttet'' in Stockholm. His assignments included being head of ''Den norske Garde'' in Stockholm from 1895 to 1901, and head of the Norwegian Military Academy from 1901 to 1907. Carl Christian Weinwich Sylow (26 January 1838 – 12 December 1930) was a Norwegian military officer and sports official. Sylow was born in Christiania to government minister Thomas Edvard von Westen Sylow and Magdalene Mejdell, and was a brother of mathematician Peter Ludwig Mejdell Sylow. He graduated as military officer in 1861 and from the Norwegian Military College in 1867, and was promoted Colonel in 1894. From 1892 to 1902 he chaired the sports association Centralforeningen for Idræt. He was also president of the Norwegian Gymnastics Federation from 1895 to 1899.
