Anchieta Patriota
José de Anchieta Gomes Patriota (born 31 March 1957) is a Brazilian politician and current mayor of Carnaíba. He has been a member of the Brazilian Socialist Party since 2000s. Early life Patriota was born in Carnaíba in 1957. He lived by the Pajéu River throughout his childhood. He attended elementary school at two schools in his hometown: Joaquim Mendes da Silva and João Gomes dos Reis. He completed high school in Serra Talhada and Recife. He later became an obstetrician-gynecologist. Career In 1982, Patriota began his political career as a candidate for mayor in Carnaíba, losing to José Francisco Filho. In 1992, he is appointed as the ''running mate'' of Expedito Tenorio de Oliveira. José Mário Cassiano Bezerra, popularly known as Zé Mário (born 5 December 1958) is a Brazilian politician and merchant. He was mayor of Carnaíba during the term 2013–2017. He is a member of the Brazilian Socialist Party. Career in 2000, Mário was the PSB mayoral candidate in Carnaíba against Didi da Felicidade, losing with 3,554 votes. in 2012 he was mayoral candidate again, this time against Ione Francisco ( PR), he was supported by the very popular incumbent mayor, Anchieta Patriota. he won the election with 8.547 votes (74.8%) having as vice-mayor in his campaign Jeovane Adriano. Miguel Arraes
Miguel Arraes de Alencar (15 December 1916 – 13 August 2005) was a Brazilian lawyer and politician. He was mayor of Recife, State Deputy, Federal Deputy and three times Governor of Pernambuco. Birth Arraes was born in Araripe in the state of Ceará, but moved to Pernambuco after graduating from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Faculty of Law. Imprisonment and exile In the military takeover of the government of Brazil in 1964 Arraes was jailed and exiled. He initially refused to resign as governor of Pernambuco and was jailed by the military government in a political prison on the island of Fernando de Noronha. Arraes remained in prison for 11 months before being granted asylum in Algeria. He remained there for 14 years and returned to Brazil in 1979.
