Anastasija Zolotic
Anastasija Zolotic ( sr, / ; born 23 November 2002) is an American taekwondo athlete and Olympic gold medalist. She won the silver medal at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in the Girls 49 kg weight class. She qualified to represent the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. On Sunday 25 July 2021, she became the first American woman to win Olympic gold in taekwondo, defeating Tatiana Minina of the ROC 25 to 17. Her parents are immigrants from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Taekwondo at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo featured 128 taekwondo fighters competing in eight weight categories; four for men, and four for women. Qualification Taekwondo competition at these Games featured a total of 128 athletes, 64 males and 64 females, and 16 in each of the eight weight categories. Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) was allowed to enter up to one competitor per event, resulting in a maximum of eight competitors, four of each gender. 2022 World Taekwondo Championships
The 2022 World Taekwondo Championships was the 25th edition of the World Taekwondo Championships and was held at the Centro Acuático CODE Metropolitano, in Guadalajara, Mexico from 13 to 20 November 2022. It was at first scheduled to be held in Wuxi, China in 2021, but withdrawn due to the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic to get the 2025 edition. In January 2022, the event was first moved to Cancún, Mexico. This was the second time after 2013, that Mexico has held the event.
