Anakkampoyil is a village located 13 km from Thiruvambady town in Kozhikode district of Kerala, India. Location It is located in the hill side valley of Vellarimala. Nearby attractions include Kadappanchal bridge and Arippara Waterfalls. Transportation The important upcoming developmental project in this area is the construction of the Calicut - Wayanad tunnel road through Anakkampoyil - Kalladi - Meppadi. By constructing this road the traffic congestion problem in Wayanad pass can be solved. An 8 km road will be constructed through the forest including two small bridges across Iruvanjippuzha and Kaniyad river. Currently, a road is available which passes through Anakkampoyil - Mutahappanpuzha - Marippuzha and from Meppadi to Thollayiram Estate. Once the road is constructed, transportation from Wayanad to southern districts of Kerala will be easier and about 30 km can be reduced. Arippara Waterfalls
Aripara Falls [alternate spelling: Arippara Falls (അരിപ്പാറ)] is a tourist spot in Anakkampoyil near Thiruvambady Town in Kozhikode district, Kerala. It is located on the Thiruvambady - Anakkampoyil route, 15 km from Thiruvambadi. The waterfall is a tributary of Iruvanjippuzha. There is a proposal for implementing a Hydropower, hydro power project on the Arippara waterfall. Iruvanjippuzha
Iruvazhanjippuzha, or Iruvanjipuzha, is a major tributary of River Chaliyar and joining to Chaliyar at Koolimadu near Cheruvadi. Its major tributary is Chalippuzha, which joins with it about 3 km north of Thiruvambady town. Other tributaries are Muthappanpuzha (joining at Anakkampoyil), ulingappuzha (joining at Thiruvambadi) and Karamoola river (join at Mukkam). Thiruvambady is a major hill town and a suburb in southeastern Kozhikode district in Kerala, India. Thiruvambady is a Panchayat headquarters, and a legislative assembly constituency, situated from the district headquarters of Kozhikode. Vellarimala
Vellarimala Hills is a mountain range in Kerala, India, spread across Thiruvambady Panchayat in Kozhikode district and Meppadi Panchayat in Wayanad district. Description Vellarimala forms a part of a high hill range of what is otherwise known as Camel's Hump Mountains, a part of the Western Ghats. Most of the hill range falls in the Meppadi Forest Range of South Wayanad Division, with some parts falling in the Thamarassery Range of Kozhikode Division. They are semi-contiguous with Nilgiris or Nilgiri Hills in Tamil Nadu, separated by the Chaliyar Valley. The plateau of Wayanad lies on the eastern slopes of these hills and merges gradually with the Mysore plateau. Wayanad
Wayanad () is a district in the north-east of Indian state Kerala with administrative headquarters at the municipality of Kalpetta. It is the only plateau in Kerala. The Wayanad Plateau forms a continuation of the Mysore Plateau, the southern portion of Deccan Plateau. It is set high in the Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 meters.
