Amy Spencer
Amy Spencer (born 19 September 1985) is a retired English sprinter. She was born in Wigan, Greater Manchester, and came to fame as a teenager. In 1998 she won a British U13 best for 80m and the next year won the AAA U15 200m title. In 2001, she was voted BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year. She specialised in the 200 metres, and won the silver medal at the 2001 World Youth Championships and finished seventh at the 2002 World Junior Championships. At the 2002 World Junior Championships she also won a bronze medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay and a silver medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay. In 2003, she competed at the 2003 World Indoor Championships without reaching the final and finished fourth at the 2003 European Junior Championships. Her personal best time was 23.20 seconds, achieved on the indoor track in March 2003 in Birmingham. Her outdoor personal best was 23.45 seconds. Wigan
Wigan ( ) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Douglas, Lancashire, River Douglas. The town is midway between the two cities of Manchester, to the south-east, and Liverpool, to the south-west. Bolton lies to the north-east and Warrington to the south. Super League
The Super League (officially known as the Betfred Super League due to sponsorship from Betfred and legally known as Super League Europe), is the top-level of the British rugby league system. At present the league consists of twelve teams, of which eleven are from Northern England, reflecting the sport's geographic heartland within the UK, and one from southern France. The Super League began in 1996, replacing the existing Rugby Football League Championship First Division, First Division and, significantly, switching from a traditional winter season to a summer season. Belgrave Harriers, founded in October 1887, is an athletics club in Britain, with headquarters located in Wimbledon, close to Wimbledon Common. As of February 2013, they had the most successful record in the history of the British Athletics League, with 11 titles. In the early days, the clubs's administrative headquarters were at the Kings Arms public house in Belgravia, central London, and races were held along the Embankment of the River Thames and also over the common lands south of London, particularly on Wimbledon Common. The 100 metres, or 100-meter dash, is a sprint race in track and field competitions. The shortest common outdoor running distance, the dash is one of the most popular and prestigious events in the sport of athletics. BBC Sports Personality Of The Year Young Personality
The BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award is presented at the annual BBC Sports Personality of the Year award ceremony. It is awarded to the sportsperson aged 17 or under as of 1 January of that year, who has made the most outstanding contribution to sport in that year. Nominees are generally British. Non-Britons are eligible if they are UK resident, play a significant amount of sport in the United Kingdom, and their core achievements for the year took place in the UK, and were not done with a non-UK national team.
