Tom Spencer (born 2 January 1991) is an English former professional rugby league footballer who last played as a for Oldham R.L.F.C. in the RFL Championship. He previously played for the Wigan Warriors ( Heritage № 1029) in the Super League, and on loan from Wigan at Leigh in the Championship and the South Wales Scorpions in Championship 1. Spencer has also played for the Centurions in the Championship, and on loan from the Leigh Centurions at Oldham ( Heritage № 1362) in the Championship He also featured for the London Broncos in the Betfred Championship. Background Spencer was born in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. He is the brother of Amy Spencer, a retired English sprinter. Wigan ( ) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Douglas, Lancashire, River Douglas. The town is midway between the two cities of Manchester, to the south-east, and Liverpool, to the south-west. Bolton lies to the north-east and Warrington to the south. 2016 RFL Championship
The 2016 Rugby Football League Championship, known as Kingstone Press Championship due to sponsorship by Kingstone Press Cider, was a rugby league football competition played in the UK, one tier below the first tier Super League. The 2016 season was the second to consist of a new structure combining the championship and super league divisions three quarters of the way through the season. The 2016 Championship featured 12 teams, which all played one another twice in the regular season, once at home, and once away, totalling 22 games. Rugby League Dual Registration
Dual registration refers to an arrangement between clubs whereby a player continues to be registered to his current club and is also registered to play for a club in a lower league. The system is mostly aimed at young Super League players who are thought to be not quite ready to make the step up to ‘week in, week out’ first team duties but for whom first team match experience is likely to be beneficial for their development but this has been extended to RFL Championship, Championship teams dual registering with League 1 (rugby league), League 1 clubs. Amy Spencer
Amy Spencer (born 19 September 1985) is a retired English sprinter. She was born in Wigan, Greater Manchester, and came to fame as a teenager. In 1998 she won a British U13 best for 80m and the next year won the AAA U15 200m title. In 2001, she was voted BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year. She specialised in the 200 metres, and won the silver medal at the 2001 World Youth Championships and finished seventh at the 2002 World Junior Championships. At the 2002 World Junior Championships she also won a bronze medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay and a silver medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay. In 2003, she competed at the 2003 World Indoor Championships without reaching the final and finished fourth at the 2003 European Junior Championships. Her personal best time was 23.20 seconds, achieved on the indoor track in March 2003 in Birmingham. Her outdoor personal best was 23.45 seconds.
