Amy Marren
Amy Marren (born 14 August 1998) is a British para swimmer who became the SM9 200m individual medley world champion at the 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships. At the same championships, she won gold in the S9 100m butterfly, as well as being a member of the British women’s relay teams that won both the 4x100m freestyle relay and the 4x100m medley relay (breaking the previous world record, also set by GB in 2011, by six seconds). Marren also won silver medals in the S9 100m backstroke and the S9 100m freestyle, finishing behind British teammate Stephanie Millward. Romford
Romford is a large town in east London and the administrative centre of the London Borough of Havering. 2014 IPC Swimming European Championships
The 2014 IPC Swimming European Championships was an international swimming competition held in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, from the 4th to the 10th of August. Around 375 athletes from 35 different countries attended. The venue, the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium, also held the 2010 IPC Swimming World Championships. Venue The Championship was staged at the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium located in the south of Eindhoven. The complex contains three outdoor swimming pools, all renovated shortly before the staging of the competition. Stephanie Millward
Stephanie Millward, (born 20 September 1981) is a British Paralympic swimmer. Personal life Millward was born on 20 September 1981 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At the age of 17 she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). As a result, she competed in the S9 (classification) Paralympic classification. Since 12 June 2016, she competes in the S8 classification after her category change from the less impaired S9 category down to S8. She was reclassified at the Berlin Open. She was awarded the Freedom of the Town of Corsham on 2 March 2013. Education Millward attended The Corsham School, Wiltshire. Swimming Millward was close to a place in the British international non-disabled team and, having broken the British record for the 100-metre backstroke at the age of 15, hoped to qualify for the 2000 Summer Olympics before she was diagnosed with MS. S9 (classification)
S9, SB8, SM9 are disability swimming classifications used for categorizing swimmers based on their level of disability. Swimmers in this class generally have severe weakness in one leg. This class includes a number of different disabilities including people with amputations and cerebral palsy. The classification is governed by the International Paralympic Committee, and competes at the Paralympic Games. Definition This classification is for swimming. In the classification title, S represents Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly strokes. SB means breaststroke. SM means individual medley.
