Amparo Llanos
Amparo Llanos Fayos (born 27 May 1965) is a Spanish musician, guitarist and songwriter. She was the leader, along with her sister Cristina, of the Spanish rock band Dover. Biography Before the foundation of the band, she worked in the shop of her mother in Majadahonda. She took a course in history and three of Journalism, but according to her, "I left it because I was too timid". Her influences are The Beatles, R.E.M and Nirvana. Dover released his first album in 1995 ("Sister") with Amparo, her sister Cristina (vocals and guitar), Jesús Antúnez (drums) and Alvaro Díez (bass). The album was not a big success, because they sold only 700 copies. Two years later, they released " Devil Came to Me" with which they got a remarkable success of sales, 800,000 copies. In 2006, " Follow the city lights" was released, turning its music genre to electronics. A few years later, the album " I Ka Kené" was published and had a strong influence of African sounds. I Ka Kene
I, or i, is the ninth letter and the third vowel letter of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Its name in English is ''i'' (pronounced ), plural '' ies''. History In the Phoenician alphabet, the letter may have originated in a hieroglyph for an arm that represented a voiced pharyngeal fricative () in Egyptian, but was reassigned to (as in English "yes") by Semites, because their word for "arm" began with that sound. ''Follow the City Lights'' is the sixth album by Spanish rock band Dover. In contrast to previous releases, the album has an electronic character. Cristina Llanos, Amparo Llanos and programmer and drummer Jesús Antúnez were joined by Samuel Titos, a newly signed bassist for the band. Daniel Alcover, with whom they had already worked with on '' Devil Came to Me'', mastered the album and later won a Music Prize for Best Sound Technician for the album. The music style shift led to the resignation of some fans. The album reached No. 1 in Spanish sales for several weeks and their first single "Let Me Out" reached the top of the charts. The album won the Best Alternative Album award at the Music Awards 2006. It was followed by the singles "Do Ya" and "Keep On Moving". ''Complications'' is the eighth and final studio album by Spanish rock band Dover, produced by Jesús Antúnez and published by Sony Music Spain on 9 February 2015. After a record break of five years since '' I Ka Kené'', published in 2010, the Madrid band released a new album that left aside the electronic sound of their previous two albums to return to their rock roots. As pointed out by their label, Sony Music, it is a total of ten songs "inspired by their favorite bands ever, but with tons of charisma."
