Amor De La Calle
Amor de la calle (''Love Street'') is a 1950 Mexican drama film directed by Ernesto Cortazar and starring Meche Barba and Fernando Fernández. Plot ''El Pichi'' ( Freddy Fernández) and other street children collect a ticket that has fallen from Fernando ''El Calavera'' ( Fernando Fernández), which prevents stop them and offers them a job in his place of tortas in the neighborhood of La Lagunilla Market in Mexico City. Fernando knows Queta (Meche Barba), the sister of ''El Pichi'', and both are attracted. This will lead to Fernando namely the hardness of life of people in the suburbs. Meche Barba
Meche Barba (born Mercedes Barba Feito; September 24, 1922 – January 14, 2000) was an American-born Mexican film actress and dancer of the Golden age of Mexican cinema in the 1940s and 1950s. She was considered one of the icons of the "Rumberas film". Early life Mercedes Barba Feito was born in New York City. She was born to Antonio Barba, a Spanish circus actor and a Mexican mother, Victoria Feito. The Barba family decided to go to Mexico to register her a citizen a few weeks after Meche's birth. She began her career in Mexico City's tent theaters at the age of six. Due to her father's illness, she started working at a young age, alongside her sister Carmen Barba, who by her beauty, was hired by entrepreneurs of the most famous tent theaters for various events. Fernando Fernández (actor)
Fernando Fernández "El Crooner de México" (1916–1999) was a Mexican actor, singer and director. He was born on November 9, 1916, in Monterrey, Mexico, and died in Mexico City, Mexico, on November 24, 1999. Fernando was the son of Eloisa Reyes. He was brother of the film director Emilio Fernández and actor Jaime Fernández and cousin to Emilio Fernández. He was married to singer Lupita Palomera, who died in 2008. Fernando Fernández was known as "the Crooner of Mexico." Fernández first began singing at radio station XEH in Monterrey in 1933, then moved on to radio station XEN located in Mexico City, Mexico, and then later at radio station XEB also located in Mexico City. Freddy Fernández (actor)
Alfredo Jesús Fernández Sáenz (January 16, 1934 – May 10, 1995) was a Mexican film and television actor, nicknamed El Pichi. Fernández was born in Mexico City, the only son of Alfredo Fernández and Elisa Sáenz Rojas. As a youth, he joined the Children's Fine Arts Theatre Company of Fine Arts under the direction of Clementina Otero. The nickname "El Pichi" was given to Fernández by producer Luis Manrique during the making of the film '' Callejera'' in 1949. He received the Virginia Fábregas medal from National Association of Actors (ANDA) for his 25 year career and was nominated three times for an Ariel Award. His son is Alfredo Fernández ("El Pato"). He died on May 10, 1995, of esophageal cancer in Mexico City, aged 61. His remains were buried in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, his son's garden. La Lagunilla Market is a traditional public market in Mexico City, located about ten blocks north of the city's main plaza, in a neighborhood called La Lagunilla. The market is one of the largest in the city and consists of three sections: one for clothing, one for furniture and one for foodstuffs, mostly selling to lower income customers. The market is surrounded by small stores and street vendors, many specializing in furniture and dresses and other needs for formal occasions. On Sundays, the number of street vendors grows significantly, a weekly “tianguis” market called a baratillo which traditionally sells used items. Antonia del Carmen Peregrino Álvarez (2 November 1912 – 19 November 1982), known by her stage name Toña la Negra (Toña the Black Woman), was a Mexican singer and actress of partial Haitian ancestry, known for her interpretation of boleros and '' canciones'' written by Agustín Lara.
