''Amoeba Gig'' is a live album by Paul McCartney taken from the recordings of a secret performance at Amoeba Music in Hollywood, California, on 27 June 2007, and released in July 2019. Tracks from the recordings were previously released in 2007 on '' Amoeba's Secret'' and as B-sides to the single "Ever Present Past." The album features the complete concert recording of that secret performance. Background Paul McCartney and his touring band played a secret show at Amoeba Music in Hollywood, California, as part of the promotion for '' Memory Almost Full'' on 27 June 2007. The performance was later released in November 2007 as '' Amoeba's Secret'', a limited edition 12" vinyl record, and again in January 2009 on CD. Three tracks from the ''Amoeba's Secret'' release were also released as B-sides for the "Ever Present Past" single in November 2007. Paul McCartney
Sir James Paul McCartney (born 18 June 1942) is an English singer, songwriter and musician who gained worldwide fame with the Beatles, for whom he played bass guitar and shared primary songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. "Matchbox" is a song written and recorded by Carl Perkins and released in 1957. Blind Lemon Jefferson wrote and recorded a song entitled "Match Box Blues" in 1927, which is musically different but which contains some lyric phrases in common. "Matchbox" was recorded as a rockabilly song by Carl Perkins in December 1956 and by fellow Sun Records performer, Jerry Lee Lewiswho played piano on the original trackin 1958. Sam Phillips and Sun Records released the Carl Perkins version as the B-side to " Your True Love". Although only the A-side became a record chart hit in 1957, "Matchbox" is one of Perkins' best-known recordings and a variety of musicians have recorded the tune.
