He began his career when he joined Lennon's skiffle group, the Quarrymen, in 1957, which evolved into the Beatles in 1960. Sometimes called "the cute Beatle", McCartney later invo ...

I've Got A Feeling
"I've Got a Feeling" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1970 album ''Let It Be''. It was recorded on 30 January 1969 during the Beatles' rooftop concert. It is a combination of two unfinished songs: Paul McCartney's "I've Got a Feeling" and John Lennon's "Everybody Had a Hard Year". The song features Billy Preston on electric piano. A studio take of the song, recorded about a week earlier, was released on the ''Anthology 3'' compilation in 1996. The 2003 remix album '' Let It Be... Naked'' includes a version of the song that is a composite edit of the rooftop concert take used on ''Let It Be'' and a second attempt at the song from the same concert. With Lennon's vocals isolated out during the production of Peter Jackson's ''Get Back'' documentary, McCartney performed the song live as a virtual duet on his 2022 Got Back tour. Composition Lennon's song was a litany where every line started with the word "everybody". The song had been recorded twice before b ...

Back In The U
The human back, also called the dorsum, is the large posterior area of the human body, rising from the top of the buttocks to the back of the neck. It is the surface of the body opposite from the chest and the abdomen. The vertebral column runs the length of the back and creates a central area of recession. The breadth of the back is created by the shoulders at the top and the pelvis at the bottom. Back pain is a common medical condition, generally benign in origin. Structure The central feature of the human back is the vertebral column, specifically the length from the top of the thoracic vertebrae to the bottom of the lumbar vertebrae, which houses the spinal cord in its spinal canal, and which generally has some curvature that gives shape to the back. The ribcage extends from the spine at the top of the back (with the top of the ribcage corresponding to the T1 vertebra), more than halfway down the length of the back, leaving an area with less protection between the bottom of ...

Here Today (Paul McCartney Song)
"Here Today" is a song by Paul McCartney from his 1982 album ''Tug of War''. He wrote the song as a tribute to his relationship with John Lennon, who was murdered in 1980. He stated the song was composed in the form of an imaginary conversation the pair might have had. The song was produced by the Beatles' producer George Martin. Although not released as a single, the song reached No. 46 on the ''Billboard'' Mainstream Rock charts. Origins and meaning Paul McCartney composed "Here Today" in mid-1981, less than a year after John Lennon was murdered. In a 1982 interview with ''The Los Angeles Times'', McCartney said that due to the honest and emotional nature of the song he was "kind of crying" when he wrote it. He even found it difficult to talk about with the other remaining members of the Beatles. The structure of the song itself is written like a dialogue between Lennon and McCartney. McCartney says that Lennon used to "lay into" McCartney, but often did not really mean it, an ...

Blackbird (Beatles Song)
"Blackbird" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1968 double album ''The Beatles'' (also known as "the White Album"). It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney, and performed as a solo piece by McCartney. When discussing the song, McCartney has said that the lyrics were inspired by hearing the call of a blackbird in Rishikesh, India, and by racial tension in the Southern United States. Origins McCartney explained on '' Chaos and Creation at Abbey Road'', aired in 2005, that the guitar accompaniment for "Blackbird" was inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach's ''Bourrée in E minor'', a well-known lute piece, often played on the classical guitar. As teenagers, he and George Harrison tried to learn ''Bourrée'' as a "show off" piece. The ''Bourrée'' is distinguished by melody and bass notes played simultaneously on the upper and lower strings. McCartney adapted a segment of the ''Bourrée'' (reharmonised into the original's relative maj ...

Calico Skies
"Calico Skies" is the sixth song on Paul McCartney's 1997 album, ''Flaming Pie''. McCartney had been staying on Long Island when the category-three storm Hurricane Bob that made landfall had hit in August 1991. This made McCartney sit with an acoustic guitar and write what he describes as "a gentle love song that becomes a 1960s protest song". The song was co-produced by George Martin and McCartney, being started, finished, and mixed within a single session on 3 September 1992 in Sussex, England. It is the earliest recording on ''Flaming Pie''. McCartney says of the song: "Bob” the hurricane, knocked out all the power; it was all candle-light, cooking on a woodfire. Very primitive, but we like that enforced simplicity. I couldn't play records, so I made up little acoustic pieces. This was one of them—it's a primitive little powercut memory." "Calico Skies" was arranged for string quartet; this version was included on McCartney's 1999 album '' Working Classical''. The song wa ...

I'll Follow The Sun
"I'll Follow the Sun" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles. It is a ballad written and sung by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney. It was released in 1964 on the ''Beatles for Sale'' album in the United Kingdom and on '' Beatles '65'' in the United States. The band played the song on the BBC program ''Top Gear'', and the track was released on ''On Air – Live at the BBC Volume 2'' in 2013. The song was released as a mono extended play 45 in 1964 on Parlophone/EMI (and in 1995 as a B-side to "Baby It's You"). In Sweden, it reached number one on the ''Tio i Topp'' chart in July and also peaked at number four on Sweden's Kvällstoppen Chart. Composition When asked about the lyrics, McCartney commented: "I wrote that in my front parlour in Forthlin Road. I was about 16. 'I'll Follow the Sun' was one of those very early ones. I seem to remember writing it just after I'd had the flu and I had that cigarette. I remember standing in the parlour, with my guit ...

The Long And Winding Road
"The Long and Winding Road" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1970 album ''Let It Be''. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney. When issued as a single in May 1970, a month after the Beatles' break-up, it became the group's 20th and last number-one hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in the United States. The main recording of the song took place in January 1969 and featured a sparse musical arrangement. When preparing the tapes from these sessions for release in April 1970, producer Phil Spector added orchestral and choral overdubs. Spector's modifications angered McCartney to the point that when he made his case in the English High Court for the Beatles' disbandment, McCartney cited the treatment of the song as one of six reasons justifying the split. New versions of the song with simpler instrumentation were subsequently released by McCartney and by the Beatles. Inspiration Paul McCartney said he came up with the ti ...

C Moon
"C Moon" is a song with a reggae beat, written by Paul and Linda McCartney and performed by Wings. It was released as a double A-side with "Hi, Hi, Hi" in 1972. The single reached No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart and since "Hi Hi Hi" was banned by the BBC, "C Moon" received much airplay in the United Kingdom. In the United States, "C Moon" did not appear on any of the major record charts. Lyrics and structure The title "C Moon" was inspired by lyrics in the song "Wooly Bully" by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. McCartney said, "There's a line in ooly Bullythat says, 'Let's not be L7.' Well, L7, it was explained at the time, means a square—put L and 7 together and you get a square... So I thought of the idea of putting a C and a moon together (a half-moon) to get the opposite of a square. So 'C Moon' means cool, in other words." The recording includes a missed-cue intro that was kept in the released version. The song is in the key of C and is in 4/4 time. The performers change instr ...
