Amlwch Town F.C.
Amlwch Town Football Club is a football team, playing in Amlwch on the island of Anglesey in the North Wales Coast West Football League Premier Division, the fourth tier of the Welsh football league system. Founded in 1897, the club enjoyed post-war success in the Anglesey League where they were champions for five successive seasons between 1947 and 1951. Their highest standard of football ever was two seasons spent in the Cymru Alliance from 2002 to 2004, but were relegated at the end of their second season. They then decided to drop straight past the next level Welsh Alliance to return to the more local Anglesey League, which they won at the second attempt in 2005–06. Their first season back in the Gwynedd League in 2006–07 saw them finish as runners-up behind Barmouth & Dyffryn United. Amlwch
Amlwch (; ) is a port town and community in Wales. It is situated on the north coast of the Isle of Anglesey, on the A5025 which connects it to Holyhead and to Menai Bridge. As well as Amlwch town and Amlwch Port, other settlements within the community include Burwen, Porthllethog/Bull Bay and Pentrefelin. The town has a beach in Llaneilian, and it has significant coastal cliffs. Tourism is an important element of the local economy. At one time it was a booming mining town that became the centre of a vast global trade in copper ore. The harbour inlet became a busy port and significant shipbuilding and ship repair centre, as well as an embarkation point with boats sailing to the Isle of Man and to Liverpool. Mickey Thomas (footballer)
Michael Reginald Thomas (born 7 July 1954) is a Welsh former footballer who played as a winger. At club level, he played for Wrexham, Manchester United, Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion, Stoke City, Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Derby County, Shrewsbury Town and Leeds United. As a Welsh international, he made 51 appearances and scored four goals. Thomas began his career with local side Wrexham where he spent eight seasons and earned a move to Manchester United in 1978. After three seasons at Old Trafford, Thomas had short spells at Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion before joining Stoke City in August 1982. After one and a half seasons at the Victoria Ground, he moved on to Chelsea, with whom he helped gain promotion in 1983–84.
