Ami Nakai
is a Japanese figure skater. She is the 2023 World Junior bronze medalist, a three-time gold medalist on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (at the 2022 JGP Poland II, the 2023 JGP Thailand, and the 2023 JGP Turkey), and the 2022–23 Japanese junior bronze medalist. Personal life Nakai was born on April 27, 2008 in Niigata, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. As a young child, she practiced rhythmic gymnastics before ultimately switching to figure skating. Nakai currently attends Ichikawa Municipal Junior High School in Ichikawa, Chiba. Career Nakai began skating in 2013 at the age of five after being inspired by watching Mao Asada skate on TV. She originally trained at the Ibis SC in Niigata under coaches, Kousuke Watabe and Izumi Watabe. ISU Junior Grand Prix
The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (titled the ISU Junior Series in the 1997–98 season) is a series of international junior-level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. 2022–23 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2022–23 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 25th season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It is the junior-level complement to the 2022–23 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters compete for medals in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance, as well as for qualifying points. The top six from each discipline will qualify for the 2022–23 Junior Grand Prix Final, to be held together with the senior final. Competitions The locations of the JGP events change yearly. Mao Shimada
is a Japanese figure skater. She is the 2022 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, a two-time ISU Junior Grand Prix gold medalist, the 2022 Japanese national bronze medalist, and a two-time Japanese junior national champion (2021–2022). She is the twenty-first woman in history to have successfully landed a triple Axel jump in competition. Personal life Shimada was born on 30 October 2008 in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan. Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform on a floor with an apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon.
