Americas Rugby Challenge
The Americas Rugby Challenge is an annual international rugby union tournament between the four best nations below the Americas Rugby Championship. It was created by Rugby Americas and features two teams from Sudamérica Rugby and two from Rugby Americas North. It was first contested in 2018, with Colombia winning the inaugural title. Format All four nations play each other once in a single-round robin. Every instance of the tournament to date has taken place in one host country, unlike the Americas Rugby Championship in which each country hosts two to three home matches. The 2019 Americas Rugby Challenge or ARCh 2019 was the second edition of the Americas Rugby Challenge, a men's rugby union international tournament for tier 2 teams in North and South America. The Americas Rugby Championship, often informally called the Americas' Six Nations, was an annual international rugby tournament between six North and South American nations: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, the United States and Uruguay. Originally competed by various interlocking combinations of club, second-tier national and top national sides, the current (since 2016) international tournament has the top national sides competing (though Argentina, to date, sends its second-tier team). Rugby Americas North, abbreviated as RAN, is the governing body for rugby union in the North American continental region. Rugby Americas North operates under the authority of World Rugby, and is one of six regional unions represented within it. Prior to 2016, the organisation was known as NACRA – the North America Caribbean Rugby Association. The preceding body before 2010 was NAWIRA – the North America and West Indies Rugby Association.
