American Society For Engineering Education
The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is a non-profit member association, founded in 1893, dedicated to promoting and improving engineering and engineering technology education. The purpose of ASEE is the advancement of education in all of its functions which pertain to engineering and allied branches of science and technology, including the processes of teaching and learning, counseling, research, extension services and public relations. ASEE administers the engineering technology honor society Tau Alpha Pi. Engineering Education
Engineering education is the activity of teaching knowledge and principles to the professional practice of engineering. It functions as a form of self-regulation by qualified members of a profession within the relevant field. Peer review methods are used to maintain quality standards, improve performance, and provide credibility. In academia, scholarly peer review is often used to determine an academic paper's suitability for publication. Peer review can be categorized by the type of activity and by the field or profession in which the activity occurs, e.g., medical peer review. It can also be used as a teaching tool to help students improve writing assignments. Sarah Rajala
Sarah Ann Rajala is a retired American electrical engineer and engineering educator, the former dean of engineering at both Mississippi State University and Iowa State University, a past president of the American Society for Engineering Education, and a member of the National Academy for Engineering. Education and career Rajala came from a farming family in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1974, the only women in her engineering class and the third female electrical engineering graduate at the university. She continued at Rice University for graduate study, earning a master's degree in 1977 and completing her Ph.D. in 1979. Gerald S. Jakubowski, P.E., was the Provost at the California Maritime Academy. Prior to this he was the president of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
