American Heartbreak
''American Heartbreak'' is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Zach Bryan, released on May 20, 2022, through Belting Bronco and Warner Records. It is a triple album and Bryan's major-label debut. The album was preceded by six singles, including Bryan's most successful single to date, " Something in the Orange", which reached number 10 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Bryan toured the US until November 2022 in support of the record. Background Bryan explained that the album "explores the past five years" of his life, further calling it his "effort at trying to explain what being a 26-year-old man in America is like. There's love, loss, revelry, resentment, and forgiveness all wrapped into one piece of work". Zach Bryan
Zachary Lane Bryan (born April 2, 1996) is an American singer-songwriter from Oologah, Oklahoma. Early life Bryan was born in Japan while his family was deployed in the Navy overseas, but grew up in Oologah, Oklahoma. He is the son of Dewayne Bryan and Annette DeAnn (Mullen) Bryan, and has a sister, Mackenzie. Continuing a family tradition, Bryan was an active-duty member of the U.S. Navy. He used his spare time to write music for his enjoyment. Musical career Bryan started uploading his music to YouTube in 2017, with his friends recording him performing using his iPhone. One of his songs, "Heading South," eventually went viral. His debut album, ''DeAnn'', was dedicated to his late mother and released on August 24, 2019. Album-equivalent Unit
The album-equivalent unit, or album equivalent, is a measurement unit in music industry to define the consumption of music that equals the purchase of one album copy. This consumption includes streaming and song downloads in addition to traditional album sales. The album-equivalent unit was introduced in the mid- 2010s as an answer to the drop of album sales in the 21st century. Album sales more than halved from 1999 to 2009, declining from a $14.6 to $6.3 billion industry. For instance, the only albums that went platinum in the United States in 2014 were the '' Frozen'' soundtrack and Taylor Swift's ''1989'', whereas several artists' works had in 2013. "You Are My Sunshine" is a song published by Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell on January 30, 1940. According to Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the song has been recorded by over 350 artists and translated into 30 languages. In 1977, the Louisiana State Legislature decreed "You Are My Sunshine" the state song in honor of Jimmie Davis, a two-time governor of the state.
