America East Baseball Pitcher Of The Year
At the end of each regular season, the America East Conference names major award winners in baseball. Currently, it names a Coach, Pitcher, Player, and Rookie of the Year. With the exception of Rookie of the Year, which was added in 1996, the awards date to the 1990 season, the conference's first season of baseball. Through the 1996 season, the awards were known as the major awards of the North Atlantic Conference, the America East's former name. Through the end of the 2019 season, Stony Brook has won 21 major awards, the most of any school in the conference. Maine has the second highest total, with 20. Three other schools have at least ten: Binghamton (19), Delaware (17), and Vermont (10). In the conference's 25–year history, a single team has swept the awards six times. East Coast Conference (Division I)
The East Coast Conference was an college athletic conference at the Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It was founded as the university division of the Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC) in 1958. The MAC consisted of over 30 teams at that time, making it impossible to organize full league schedules in sports like football, basketball, and baseball. In 1958, the larger schools created their own mini-conference, consisting of 11 members (7 for football). In 1974, the larger schools in the MAC officially formed the East Coast Conference. During the 1974-75 through 1981-82 seasons, the ECC enjoyed a consistent membership of 12 teams. That stability was rocked when St. Joseph's, Temple, and West Chester departed in the summer of 1982, while Towson was added, trimming the league to 10 programs. Colonial Athletic Association
The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I whose full members are located in East Coast states from Massachusetts to South Carolina. Most of its members are public universities, and the conference is headquartered in Richmond. The CAA was historically a Southern conference until the addition of four schools in the Northeast (of five that joined from rival conference America East) after the turn of the 21st century, which added geographic balance to the conference. The CAA was founded in 1979 as the ECAC South basketball league. It was renamed the Colonial Athletic Association in 1985 when it added championships in other sports (although a number of members maintain ECAC affiliation in some sports). Jon Paul Mueller (born January 26, 1970) is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach of Albany Great Danes baseball, Albany since the start of the 2000 season. Mueller, who was named the 2004 America East Conference baseball awards, America East Coach of the Year, led the Great Danes to their first NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, NCAA tournament appearance in 2007. Bill Currier (baseball)
Willard F. Currier is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach of the Fairfield Stags baseball team. He was named to that position prior to the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball season. He was previously the head coach at Vermont (its winningest ever) before the university cut the baseball program after the 2009 season. Playing career Currier played at Vermont under Jack Leggett from 1979 through 1981. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 1981 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. The Towson Tigers, formerly the ''Towson College Knights'', are the athletics teams of Towson University. All of the major athletic teams compete in the Colonial Athletic Association with 19 Division I athletic teams (13 in women's sports, 6 in men's sports).
