Amber Calling
Amber Calling are an Australian pop punk and emo band from Adelaide, which formed in 2005 as 919. They issued an extended play, ''Road Rage'' (2006), under that name. Their second EP, ''The Truth About Lies'' appeared on 14 April 2008. Amber Calling issued their debut album, ''Run Home Jack. Home Run Jack'', on 31 May 2011. During their career they have supported shows by Grinspoon, Kenny Vasoli, Panic! at the Disco, and Short Stack. Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. It is defined for its emphasis on classic pop songcraft, as well as adolescent and anti-suburbia themes, and is distinguished from other punk-variant genres by drawing more heavily from 1960s bands such as the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Beach Boys. Grinspoon are an Australian Rock music, rock band from Lismore, New South Wales, formed in 1995 and fronted by Phil Jamieson on vocals and guitar with Pat Davern on guitar, Joe Hansen on bass guitar and Kristian Hopes on drums. Also in 1995, Grinspoon won the Triple J-sponsored Unearthed (talent contest), Unearthed competition for Lismore, with their post-grunge song "Grinspoon (EP), Sickfest". The name "Grinspoon" was taken from Lester Grinspoon, Dr. Lester Grinspoon, an associate professor emeritus of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, who supported marijuana for medical use. Kenneth Robert "Kenny" Vasoli is an American singer and musician from Pennsylvania. Vasoli is currently the lead singer and songwriter of The Starting Line, Person L, and Vacationer. Biography Kenneth "Kenny" Robert Vasoli was born May 20, 1984 in Abington, Pennsylvania, and attended Hatboro-Horsham High School. At the age of 14, Vasoli was invited to join the pop punk band The Starting Line after Matt Watts read his AOL Messenger profile. Panic! At The Disco
Panic! at the Disco is the solo project of American musician Brendon Urie. It was originally a pop rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2004 by childhood friends Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson. They recorded their first demos while they were in high school. Shortly after, the band recorded and released their debut studio album, ''A Fever You Can't Sweat Out'' (2005). Short Stack are an Australian pop punk band. The band consists of members Shaun Diviney (lead vocals, guitar), Andy Clemmensen (bass, backing vocals) and Bradie Webb (drums). Shannon Hotchkins was also a member of Short Stack before any song was performed or recorded. Short Stack were twice named Channel V Oz Artist of the Year, and produced two gold-selling albums, three top ten singles, a ARIA number one chart award and a platinum-selling single. The group split in 2012, and their former label released ''Art Vandelay'' the following year without any promotion. Crunkcore
Crunkcore (also known as crunk punk and scrunk) is a musical fusion genre characterized by the combination of musical elements from crunk, post-hardcore, heavy metal, pop, electronic and dance music. The genre often features screamed vocals, hip hop beats, and sexually provocative lyrics. The genre developed from members of the scene subculture during the mid 2000s.
